Why isn’t it clearer when active zones are active and when they are next active? It says ‘Radiant Echoes will be active for: 50 minutes’ above a portal, which when taken then says the Radiant Echoes event is over?
I have no idea when or where the next active event will be.

The portal tells you if the event is active in that zone, though if you’re late it may have been completed. Whilst in a zone that the event has finished in it tells you where the next event is happening and when.
The event starts in the next zone when the other ends. The portals from left to right are in the order the the events take place.
Yeah you basically have to be there at the time it starts; they’re over rather quickly.
Kind of like the Dragonbane siege, where the actual event is over in 3-4 minutes, but it still shows up as “active” for an hour on the map.
The worst event design of DF to replicate and they did just that, haha.
I was also pretty confused at first, what I was supposed to do, when and where, then I figured it out. I agree that this event could be more informative.
