never liked sub as a spec its just dull and fiddly
Whenever I dare to say Legion was TRUE pruning…
Besides mobility, both ret and WW are suffering the same issues in BFA, they were fine damages wise in Legion, because of borrowed power.
So in BFA, every dps spec that has a healing class besides balance druid have poor damages (Elem Sham was good in 8.1), useless supportive tools and no reliable defensive tools.
I don’t know about all of those specs in SL, but I can say that Paladin seems useless. I mean, both warrior and DK are bringing a raid wide cooldown which ret does not. A support that does not have a raid wide CD… My lord.
Trust me, it’s sometimes really really awful in PvE. Having gaps in rotation is damn annoying, not being able to pump outside of 1 single spell is not fun, and so on and on.
I defined 3 wow eras classes : Vanilla - > Wotlk, Cata->Wod, Legion/BFA.
Based on Blizzcon and what we’re having on beta, Shadowlands is some sort of mix between Vanilla->Wotlk, by bringing more class wide spells, rp and flavorful spells and legion bfa with borrowed power.
I do prefer cata->Wod Era in terms of class design, but I guess what they’re trying is still better than no “unpruning” at all…
Sub is basically top tier in SL
Cataclysm was my most fun period of rogue.
RIP Sub rogue.
Yeah I concede the play switch behind combat changed a lot which was questionable, but I stand by them renaming it to something more distinct.
It looks awesome, it’s play hasn’t changed a great deal, they’ve just given its core kit the stuff it lacked like actual AOE and Find Weakness being an essential pick now baseline and about time.
Just imagine what they did to feral druids. Rogues are now more versatile than feral druids.
Why don’t you try Demon Hunters? They’re the most skillful class in the game, with lots of keybinds . Demon Hunter players are also the most respected players due to the difficulty of the class.
Not a bad shout tbh. DH are great fun to play and dynamic. Certainly a better reason to choose a class than giving a toss about what other people think of it.
This said rogues look very strong in SL, Sub is top-tier at current.
ok so ill confess I used to be a bit of an altoholic…my only 2 mains have been my rogue, till cata and then this lock has been my main since then.
butttt I have sitting at level 90. a death knight, a paladin, a shaman, a druid, a hunter and a mage
and sitting at level 100 I have a demon hunter. My rogue is sitting at 112 currently (managed 2 levels before the new playstyle did my head in lol)
So I have a fair bit of choice! Im going to take my lock into shadowlands as its what im best at and been my main for a long time now, but im going to take one alt also…leaning toward the druid or the shaman, playing feral or enhancement (as my main is a caster I want to play melee as my alt…and dps as I hate tanking and healing)
Have to admit the pala and death knight have me thinking also though. decisons decisions!
I mained a monk through most of BFA, then a MM hunter, but toyed with a priest/shaman/dk in some patches too.
I’ve started playing DH late in expo, think i’m going to give Vengeance a proper spin in SL for mythic+ and raiding. I’ll probably have a healing alt I think although sub changes have piqued my interest because before I settled on Monk in BFA, i first quested through everything on my sub rogue, and i’d really like to play it when it can actually perform…but I don’t want two leather class chars to be my most played…
Muy issue has been too much alting so i’m trying to stick to DH in SL mainly but we’ll have to see how that goes.
ive just been playing a bit of my demon hunter and actually enjoying it
Rogue atleast has abilities left unlike all the rest of the classes.
You evidently haven’t been paying attention to the SL beta development. A lot of abilities are now removed from being locked behind specs, you will have additional covenant ability (that has its own issues) and soulbinds. Theres plenty of buttons to mash!
Yeah I came to it very late but it’s good fun. Yes it’s not the most cerebral spec out there, but it means i’m focused on what is actually happening a lot more in combat so I feel better placed to make great plays (when i’m playing Havoc at least) and the fluidity is very satisfying. I prefer Vengeance however and am finding it very enjoyable with all of the tricks and toys it has that are well suited to small groups! Pulling off my first meaningful pulling a huge pack away so my party can move past, chains → misery > leap to party > shadowmeld to reset was really satisfying the first time I got it right and actually saved us tons of time!
