…when I kill a world boss with my balance druid and the epic I get from loot is a soulbound axe…
I am pretty sure you killed a rare, not a world boss.
And those have a set lootable. Most won’t drop anything you can use.
Your options are:
1: get nothing
2: get something you can DE/sell for gold
Your choice.
I agree with Sonordru, it sounds like you killed a rare, the world boss is currently up in Lagzure Span.
Bazual:-
Apparently so. Still the loot is pretty useless.
Rares don’t care for your loot spec or class. Just treat it as free gold or d/e mats
Well they should though. Four weeks into the expansion and the gear loot has been nothing but frustrating again. Still crawling around with item level 379 because most higher gear I get ruins my stats. Then you get the usual arrogant no-lifer comments in M+ like “happy to boost you” and are thrown out of raids just because you’re not one of the 24/7 luckers gifted with gear on a regular basis. At least some proper world drops wouldn’t be too much to ask for…
Tell me about it…
One more polearm or glaive and I will moider someone
Is really no fun at all when you barely feel any progress after all the effort you put into playing and the game rewards you with nothing but crap.
If you’re currently stuck at 379 then clearly you’ve barely put any effort into playing the game.
Right. Playing 4 to 5 hours a day after work and doing 8 to 15 M+ a week isn’t putting in effort. Please spare me your “quality” opinion on whether or not I play enough. You don’t know me
It’s not the amount of time you spend playing, it’s the difficulty of content you do during that time. Doing +2 keys aint gonna skyrocket your ilvl. We’ve gotten 3 sparks which can be used for crafts and those items upgraded all the way up to 418s. But that requires 16 and above keys. Even then, doing 11s gives you the item to upgrade those to 405.
Also
because most higher gear I get ruins my stats
Your stats do not matter. Your ilvl matters. It’ll be an upgrade output-wise pretty much always, maybe depends on trinkets. Once you’re at a decent ilvl can you think about stat optimization.
I killed the super rares daily to gear up, and the rewards are based on your ilvl.
The elemental storms are much easier to just farm some oddments, or you can buy starter gear quiet cheap from the AH or use the work order system.
Please give me just 1 item where a 179 is better than a 340 (normal dungeon) piece.
I’m not doing +2 keys anymore but ok.
So everyone not doing +16 keys as of now is “not putting in the effort”. I see. Are you the official Blizzard commander of effort department, yes?
Right.
No, it isn’t.
DF trinkets are garbage and I have one of each upgradable with valor that isn’t of any use.
I’m of absolutely no use if I don’t do damage in dungeons and that one comes with stat priority. Most classes have only two secondary stats. Balance always has to deal with three thanks to versatility. If I’m a useless dps in higher keys, they won’t be timed, ergo no loot. Means I need to spam +7 to +10 until once in a weekly lifetime one meaningful item drops. If at all. Sorry but your logic has flaws and I’m not doing M+ since yesterday, so again, please spare me your judgement on my situation from your high +16 horse.
*379 mea culpa for typing wrong. Should be obvious but nvm…
I do world quests as soon as they’re up, some elemental storms in between and on top hunts, occupations and M+. Yet my renown still is underhwelming, renown gear still not unlocked and the loot that comes from rares is just equally rare. And to be honest, I don’t see the meaning in buying 400k gear in AH that will get replaced as soon as a proper item drops.
By the time I unlocked most of the renown gear I’d long surpassed it. I wasn’t interested in farming any of them.
At some point I’ll buy the stuff for transmog but crafting recipes are a higher prio for me, then I’ll collect all the Fluff.
I cleared all the quests in every zone, main and side and all the ones that popped up after. I do clear the WQ map twice a week as it’s not a big chore any more.
You have no interest in gathering a bit of M plus gear and upgrading that with valor? I realise M plus isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
Same.
I’ve been doing M+ since BFA but it burned me out in SL after season 2, so I took a break and to be honest, I don’t want to get to that point again. I’ve started it slow and have like 10 valor items gathered on the bank but none of them is making for a good combo atm with the rest of the gear. Either I lose up to 300 mastery or haste with each combination and those are my two most important secondary stats this season / expansion followed by crit. Plus I need basic vers on the side. Most gear I got up to now is a crit combo, so I rather have too much of it compared to other stats. Which is absolutely annoying to say the least.
So you are sitting on 379 ilvl and are upset that random mobs don’T give you upgrades? What kind of items do you expect to get for killing 1 random mob? Raid level? Glad level? How entitled are you to say “I should be getting raid level gear for killing a random boar”? Jesus…
Dude, stop putting words in my mouth just to get offensive, aye?
The original item i was talking about (a soulbound axe, mind you, which I can’t even equip) had item level 389. I never said anything about raid level. What I was talking about is loot that is actually relevant and equippable for my class. Comprende? Shall I explain it a bit slower, so you can follow?
That means that you are not happy with the loot that you are getting. That you want better gear, aka “ugprades”.
So no, I’m not putting words in your mouth.
You made a post talking about how you didn’t think it was ‘right’ for mobs to drop items you can’t use. Then in that vetry same thread you said this, meaning what you are looking for are upgrades.
Put the two together, you want upgrades from random mobs.
Edit: And since you are 379 and raid begins at 389, the upgrade-level gear you want is raid-level. So again, not putting anything in your mouth.
If the item level a - rare - not a
drops is 389 by nature, how am I asking for an upgrade when all I’d wish is an equippable loot? I don’t need to ask for an upgrade if the item itself would already be an upgrade given it were equippable. Are you seriously making a scene because someone points out how useless epic item distribution is if the item isn’t equippable? Or are you just passive aggressive towards me because [insert reason for antipathy]?
Let’s see
When did rares that require raid size to kill become random mobs?
Again, what random boar? If there’s a natural drop rate for epic items with a zone rare, how is it “entitled” to wish for the drop to actually be based upon the class looting?
