That’s not a system. It’s people’s preferences dictating who they invite or don’t invite. If I show up in the queue with my 3050ish score and 488 ilvl and you’re sitting there with a 2300 guy in the queue with like 479 ilvl, maybe even lower, would you honestly pick the 2300 guy above me at 3050? I get pretty much instant invites to keys 20 or lower even when playing DPS.
When I do keys with my alt, I had really bad time with people that dont have the appropriate rio for the key to be honest.
Tanks pull as if it was a 26, healers that just AFK because “you gotta play as if it was a 27”. Routes that assume everyone has invi pot (for a +17 FFS ! ). Things like that.
So when I play with my warrior I tend to invite people with similar rio to me.
This, exactly. It’s a supply and demand thing. There is not shortage of experienced and well-geared DPS that apply to 18-20 keys (or post them) for vault slots. Unless someone feels charitable, there is no reason to instead join someone with a substantially lower score and worse gear. It’s different if someone knows you, but everything else equal, I’d always prefer the 3k player to the 2.3k player with worse gear.
Systems have nothing to do with what you are describing.
Only the community perception is keeping you from playing. You are free to make your own groups, and blizzard will display your group to everyone.
Now everyone else sees you and is free to decide if they want to join or not.
If you cannot “compete” in the open market of group making, you are free to join a guild/community/group, where they are like minded people like you to play together.
I never take people who don’t benefit from the key because they are most likely to rage and quit.
Some 470ish DPS looking to join a +18 will have to dragged out because they benefit so much from the vault slot.
The most recent +18 I did the DPS were all 473, healer was 476 and I was 480.
I just do press W routes if I tank in lower keys. It always goes bad if you try to skip.
Had a group that wanted to skip to the first boss and pull mobs with the boss. I was skeptical, I didn’t think they’d pull it off. And when I did the pull… Yeah, I was right. We died. I don’t know why they thought it would a good idea to do that. I’ve done that pull on +21 but those people had like 5 times as much dps as that group, I wasn’t topping the damage and the healer wasn’t 3rd on damage done in that +21.
If you invite people to smash the key for vault, they’re probably not going to quit. They’re going to try to +3 it because they want the key done asap. You could likely go AFK as a DPS and it would still be +3 if you’re inviting vault farmers.
Love it. Please tank for me
Im bad at it, and im tired of the situations you describe.
Because when I play with my Warrior, im not there to compete, push rio, heck… im not there to even time the key.
Im there to have some chill time. So try-harders kind of bother me in those levels.
In fact, that is why I deliberately hide the rio of my main. Because otherwise people assume things which are not true.
Finally someone says it like it is.
If I’d get paid I’d try it!
OK. Instead of a job… lets say you use tinder and try to find a partner.
You are not being payed. And if you want more success, you need to invest in your “image”.
Or you want to join a hobby sport club. You have to atleast do some tests to prove you can “play” soccer.
People will invite you to a party or not depending on how you have built your relationships. And in that party, people will treat you differently depending on what you do.
So many different situations in real life that require you to prove something to strangers.
A game is no different. Especially a multi player game where you play with strangers.
Yesterday i pugged my own +17 Fall key on my Frost DK with 2100 score (and fall on +13 as highest) and i had instant a group (or less than 30 seconds). Now it would be a fun experiment to just throw my +20 key (since we +3’ed the 17 fall) in the groupfinder to check how fast i get a tank or healer
But till this level i do not see any trouble getting groups.

(A) How can you post links and I cant?
(B) Wanna play with alts?
I use the </>
button around urls in the reply box
I usually do not know what is happening in the evening. I usually group up with 1 or 2 friends, which can ramp up to 5. When nothing happens i play an alt. I still need a weekly key on my guardian druid.
Here you go
I play from 8pm to 9pm ( CET ). After that guild wants to run achievements in the raid.
Whisper me at Zavia-Uldum or Uda-Uldum. Or discord: Zavia#9863
If you have time / wanna play. If not, then maybe some other time.
Rio killed this game!
Your IO isn’t great for the key level - not horrendously bad, but not good either. It also depends what your best timed key and best WM are.
You’d be better off dropping it to 18 and looking for a group that can 2-chest it. There are plenty of overgeared, high IO people doing quick 18s for the weekly at this point in the season. You could find a premade with that key at 18, and they wouldn’t care about your gear, score or experience because they could totally carry you and still 2-chest it.
M+ system sucks. True. I personally would never touch it, if it wasn’t the main source of gear now, which I need for raiding. Especially it sucks past mid-season, when most of dedicated players progressed very far on several alts already, and pool of mid keys players is schrinked heavily. I suggest to not bother. Go fresh with season 4, and progress along with many others within common “curve of progression”. Meanwhile you can unsubscribe and put the reason in Bliz questionary. The system won’t change while you choose to keep paying and buy boosts.
Before rio there was gear score. Before gear score there was an addon to do it. And before that in 2004 it was literally inspecting people.
Cant blame the system. Dont forget that Rio was born from an addon.
so what is your gear level . and io score ? and key you wer trying to list
let me do wild guess guess you are one of those 440 itlv 300 score listing like +18

strange - literaly dusted off my 3 tank alts last week and have absolutely no issue to join +12/13 fast so many groups form
