I made a friend the other day, but try as I might, I couldn’t send an ingame friend request since our realms weren’t merged, but merely linked. At least from what I read online, I concluded that was the problem.
Is there a way to friend ppl from different realms or maybe send ingame mail to them?
Do you not just put their realm name after they character name? so I would be Nefaryas-aerie-peak

And I did put in their name with the realm name, but it didn’t work sadly. Iirc it said “Player not found” despite the fact I was talking with them thru whisper.
If you have the name in chat you shoud be able to right click add friend.
That really sucks but hopefully you can get in touch with them soon.
In future you should send a friend request in game so that you can chat any time without that restriction.
Do you know their name and realm?
There are two “friend” mechanisms.
One is for characters on your realm and realms Connected to yours.
The other is for people, BattleNet wide. This is called a BattleNet friend, and works regardless which character or realm they are on.
Do you know how to get in touch with your friend again?
You can make a chartacter on his realm, add him as a realm friend there, and either watch and wait for him, or earn a few copper with your new character and send him an in-game mail.
When you make contact with him, you should be able to make him a BettleNet friend, as Malaficus says.

didn’t know emo was meant to be a specifically millennial term, but considering that “take on me” by A-ha (the song in the video) was released in 1984, which is meant to be part of period when “millennials” were born, this could also be argued as a millennial song.
why bring politics into things anyway. the original comment might can be construed as overly edgy as the op might have actually enjoyed finding a friend worth having, and the fact that they cant interact with them for some reason cause of servers could be a bit depressing.
its not as massively easy these days to make friends when there are so many dead servers, and everyone is spamming lfg/lfr stuff and basically soloing the game.
All I know from listening to classic pensioners is that you need a forced desperation to make friends, so bigger servers won’t help you much.
that just makes you sound 12? :\ and how is it forced desperation working together in a game that is meant to be about community and your avatar being part of the population of azeroth?
how do you propose making friends in BfA content then, when its so easy to do basically anything on your own or with “invisible people” from group finder? you even pug mythics up to +10 or so. the only places where you NEED friends is for heroic/mythic raids, and rated pvp above maybe 2K.

Yea and he should make sure it’s not someone from the forum trolling him apparently that’s a thing now to do strange and sad it is 
. Recently I made so much friends in Classic and the sad part is in BFA I only have forum friends in here of course and my buddy Punyelfs guild on Dreanor realm which I’m still thankful for what she has done but more to the point,he should check people’s armory now I guess to see if it’s a troll or not before friending anyone.
