So you can’t see from tooltips that the orb cdr from blizzard scales with target count and that feeds into the cdr on IV and more RoP? You can’t also see the fire gains nothing from extra targets and Arcane’s extra resources and barrage damage caps out at 5 targets?

You can see everything like that and in theory if you are big brain superbrain: you can become simcraft in your brain.
But you can’t that directly just compare all 3 specs and confidently have an opinion.
The best minds in the area code on simcraft exactly because of that fact.

So what exactly is the point of this post?
- Yes, frost is good at sustained AoE.
- No, you’ll basically never get 20 targets for sustained AoE, so it’s completelly irrelevant.
- Yes, other mage specs have their ups and downs, and both fire and arcane can outperform frost in different dungeons/situations, that’s why top mages have been running basically all 3 specs this tier and managed to push high keys. At one point, arcane was dominating in the highest keys done.
- No, going into other specs discords and basically telling them “haha, your spec sucks, my spec can do 3x moar damages in this sim that’s completely unrealistic” doesn’t make you a likeable person, and it also doesn’t make you an amazing theorycrafter.

You are talking about an imaginary person. It was a general channel and nobody laughed at frost mages. Those people are too insecure to not group up against a single person.
I can confidently tell which specs scale better with more targets. I can tell frost is best when it has sustained dmg and arcane and fire are at their best when there’s downtime between pulls. I’m not saying I do the math.
And to be fair to you the mage discord can get a mob mentality when someone gets something wrong. Its not the admin, they will take the time to explain to you why you’re wrong if your patient and civil but it can be trying when the rest of the discord is calling you dumb and stuff.

Mage discord sounds like a really unpleasant place. I bet it’s full of metagamers and there’s basically no talk about a spec in it the moment it isn’t the top performer.

I’ve tried to join it a long time ago but there seems to be so many players in there that I don’t know how I’d even introduce myself let alone participate and do anything useful there.

the specific spec channels dont go that fast usually unless theres some big news, can always lurk and jump at the opportunity if it arrives. as long as you dont try and spread misinformation the hardcore andys are pretty relaxed and helpful in any case even with “noob” questions

Eh, I guess I’ll just join and idle there again, see what the cool club is about. 
Don’t worry about that, there are people in there that basically only play one of the specs and they have more than enough to say about their specs.

You can say whatever you want in m+ Frost mage is OP on every situation, even ST they do good dmg. So is the nerf justifies yep is will the spec become useless clearly not.

Altered time discord should be shut down, especially the off-topic channel. People spam; it’s not being moderated. They randomly bait people who don’t seem fit to provoke them until it escalates. Then they get away with it. Not to mention inhumane posts about Rusia where Europeans should be nuked and similar disgusting stuff like that. I believe it’s just a group of friends who play with each other and think they own this channel. I have been chatting with them for so many months and I thought I literally had friends there. How foolish I was.
Most of the time, people use discord by playing this game, and there is no way to report this anywhere, but this is where most of the toxic abuse happens. I hope something can be done about it. It’s still a 3rd party software and it seems totally hopeless.
