I need a new main! Druid VS Hunter

So after weeks of playing different classes to try and find a class that I can comfortably main and commit to for BfA and the next patch, I have been torn between two classes, I really can’t afford to take both. My choice would be: Balance Druid or BM Hunter.

I really enjoy both, and I enjoy all their utilities they bring. Though I don’t know which one I would prefer. For Druid, I really appreciate the AoE silence for M+, or the CR. For Hunter, the option to have BL when lust-classes aren’t about seems really nice too.

I just need genuine advice, without any form of biasedness.

Druid because then you can do it all and they look pretty cool.

Only having dps specs on your main gets really annoying eventually :skull:

I can really recommend druid. Its also nice because they have a healer or tank spec :slight_smile:

If you want easy access to LFR/LFG and feel comfy with tank/heal, you should go Druid.
Instant queues is amazing if you only have 1 hour gametime and just want to finish something quick.

I used to drood, but I think tanking/healing is booring in mythics and raids

In Legion my answer would have been straight forward.
Druid:

  1. Get faster into LFR and LFD groups as a healer.
  2. Tank with “Restoration” affinity can take on anything quests or WQ can throw at you.
  3. “Prowl” = stealth to sneak past things you don’t want to fight.
  4. Cat form has a speed boost when running.
  5. “Flap” on Balance Druid is similar to “Slow Fall” on Mages.
  6. You have all 4 roles in a Raid or Dungeon in one character.
  7. You don’t need mounts with travel form and can move on land and under water. Travel form is instant. You can herb while in any travel form.

The Druid just does not have any down sides.

However in BfA you will get it up too a good gear level fairly quickly and then you run out of stuff to do unless you pursue Class mount in the Legion content or do other old content or do pet battle stuff.

This is where Hunter has one advantage. You can go and catch hunter pets. Test the abilities of these pets and maybe start a little collection. I know you can only hold 60 pets in the stable, but it is something to do when all else is done.

As a BM Hunter main, only pick BM Hunter if you’re looking for getting through questing quickly and mostly coasting in raids.

There isn’t much challenge in being a BM Hunter right now. You have a personal tank that you can constantly heal and enough abilities in your arsenal to take down most enemies. You can quite easily take on elites once you have a decent item level and it’s never much of a challenge.

I only main Hunter cause first class I played and I like to go through the game on easy mode first so I can get the story done before going through on harder to play classes.

Well , if you are looking to play only those specific specs go bdruid but if you want to play other specs too go hunter. For druids , feral and guardian is really in a bad spot and they just killed resto with 8.1 tranq nerf.On the other hand , playing survival hunter is really fun if you get bored from bm.
