i want to get back to old darkshore because of archaeology but i am already wasted 20 minutes and cant find anything, google, wowhead and youtube all useless. i am getting angry already (i getting angry early in games because last months only big frustration from games, now i play wow again for 3 days after a year and the first problem came up already) asked help in trade and what they mentioned was not there, i remember some npc with a chat icon on the map but nothing.

thnx in advance. i want the name of the npc so i can check the exact location

i forgot to say its on alliance character. or do i have the wrong chromie timeline?
i found nothing in the north i will log another character and see whats on their map.

Ive never done it on alliance tbh. But on horde it should be there.

you are right i see zidormi on my hunter but on my paladin nothing. thnx for your help. i need another timeline then. what is best to do tolvir archaeology while lvl 40? i dont want to get killed.

Zidormi.

Which character are you trying to do this with? Is it your only and first character on your account?
Have you got to level 50 and unlocked the darkshore warfronts?
Is it a recently boosted character?

ty, its on my paladin lvl 40, my account is from 2009 so not my first character. my hunter have it on the map and is lvl 61 or lvl 62. my paladin from lvl 40 doesnt have the npc on the map.

Did the Paladin start via the new starter island that leads you into BFA or in its normal racial starting area?

i switched back to the previous one, i selected draenor. but i cant find wich one it is where i am in now

Edit: looked wrong, the digsite i needed is north-west ashenvale, its not in darkshore. feels bad. sorry.

Do archaeology in pandaria or legion and use the fragments to turn them into the specific one you need its the fastest way

First thing is check which version you’re in, you could already be in the older version if you’re at a low level.
If the mobs in there are level 35 (I think, could be 30) then you’re in the old version.

The NPC is called Zidormu and is in the North of the zone. There should be a speech bubble icon on your map.
He gives access to Cata version and BFA version of the zone. You can’t access Vanilla versions (those are only available on Classic Servers currently).
Cata is the old one, probably the one you want.

Thnx you both. Yes i switched uldum and if i am in the wrong zone then Zidormu shows text, If i would like to be present the cata one. Before when i was in the wrong zone there was a huge elite mob around madexx in the north but it was not there.

About the pandaria i didnt know. I am going to look at that. Tyvm. Sometimes i got lucky but when digsites going crazy spread around kalimdor isnt nice. Lucky there are smart ways to fast travel. Caverns time portal to orgrimmar, orgrimmar to hyal and back and thunderbluf.

get your pandaria archaeology skill up, get the lorewalker rep and buy the item that make all digsites in pandaria the same. Fly around and dig fragments and then make restored artefacts, use these to buy tol vir fragments. Otherwise the only way to get tol vir fragments is hoping for a digsite in Uldum
