I really like the gem system in Mists remix

This is kinda weird, but I really like the gem system in the Mists Remix. So, a gem called Brilliance dropped and I was like, not op but it really scratched that itch of wanting to be a paladin. The gem gives 5% Vers and more importantly 2% of any class resource as recovery. If they renamed this to inspiring presence. I would be right at home as a front-line defence and buff champ.

This is just such a cool ability; some people might go oh but the game balance. I really don’t care, that is a dev problem. First time in ages wow felt like a character-building RPG “ROLE PLAYING GAME” to me. Don’t get me wrong wow does do a lot of cool stuff but as an rpg where you build out a char that does cool things in the world. Not really, until now.

Panda Remix is probably an experiment for Blizzard.

They get to try a bunch of crazy or innovative systems and see what the community loves and hates without any risks or consequences because it does not affect the actual retail experience.

I expect the most successful systems of remix will eventually find their way into retail in some way.

nah, i think this will make way for a yearly event, making every past exp a "mix "one.

Things I want from this event to carry over to retail:

  1. Expansions to be more like MoP again. That amazing feel of exploring zones and good story.
  2. Gear that stays with you and can be upgraded/customized
  3. Account wide boons that can be unlocked/shared
  4. Early unlocks of raids/dungeons, e.g. bring “end game” sooner to people in a controlled, scaled fashion
  5. Make everything obtainable with stuff like bronze currency.

Wouldn’t even mind this, as this is a really fun way to level a character.

  • Season of Discovery
  • Plunderstorm
  • Pandaria Remix

It seems Blizzard is performing a lot of experiments as of late, a welcome change as I support experimenting. So far, it seems Pandaria Remix is another take on SoD but on a smaller-scale, and am looking forward to see what they might implement in retail as a result at the end of these experiments.

probably
it kind of feels like SoD for retail

I would be a fun for these reasons:

  1. Blizzard would somehow make obtaining them a chore/grind
  2. Only a select few will be meta, so the rest will become useless
  3. We already have enough clutter in our bags, I don’t want more space lost because of gems

I do like the idea of developing your character and making it unique but in WoW, if you haven’t got x, y or z equipped, then you’re not getting invites.

I also made a post about it.

The system reminds me a lot about the “mod system” Destiny 2 uses for armor.

Is it that innovative, it’s a little like the gems they’ve removed in expansions past. Remember meta gems!
