A Mythic key yields on average 52 Gold (around 11 Gold per Boss defeated) if I remember the amount right in the last 3 seasons.
For reference, my first heroic dungeon this day gave me:
From Mobs/Bosses:
60 Copper
93 Silver
437 Gold
From Daily Dungeon Reward:
168 Gold
54 Silver
In Summary 60 Copper, 47 Silver, 606 Gold
That’s as much as roughly 12 Mythic+ Keys give with the reward chest.
Even with the chance to drop epic items, Mythic+ keys should gradually award more gold per run, the higher the difficulty.
That way we have not only another incentive to run higher keys but to ALSO push beyond the 20+ key level for even higher gold rewards.
If people could get good amount of gold from playing the hardest activities, people would be more interested in mastering Mythic+ as an activity. Also, it would make people feel more satisfied when getting no epic item drop, since they at least got a fair amount of gold.
I have right now 70k gold. I was merely making an observation during playing the heroic dungeon. It has been like a full season since I played one. Was surprised to get that much gold.
The difference between heroic and M+ is just such a high contrast from the numbers alone.
Same lol.
The thing is, professions are intended to be the only way to farm gold, if we’ll get too much gold from other sources we will have wod-legion style inflation, where Garrison/class hall follower quests net you too much gold and in turn made auction prices spike hard
But then you wont add mats and wont redeem crafting orders and instead just quietly farm gold, which in turn will provoke inflation to spike (I mean not exactly you, just someone else)
I get what you want, but the thing is it will only help you to buy something like traveling yak, because everything else on auctions will just cost the more money you can receive from sources other than professions.
Capitalism works like it, gold must have a value, so basically it needs to be somewhat time consuming to get
I don’t need to add mats to the AH, if the Bots on every realm are already doing that for us (even unintended)
I don’t fulfill crafting orders, I only issue them to others.
From players like me, there is no gain to be made, simply by how we play the game compared to crafting-lovers.
Mythic+ can be time consuming with 20mins on average already.
You see, that logic is one of the reasons why the WoW token exists. So players like me that really DON’T enjoy farming for Gold can take the shortcut to actually spend time on playing activities we like.
Farming gold is not fun. It’s repetitive and boring. People already work to get Money IRL. WoW shouldn’t focus on making earning Gold the same. Gold should be fun to get, not hard to get in games.
Like. imagine you enter a dungeon or a raid (as your character) You are fighting/pillaging, defeat that big Monster at the end of the Dungeon/Vault… And instead of big treasure, you get a few coins.
Doesn’t sound appealing, does it? That’s how earning Gold through PvE Endgame feels like.
Well yes, but not every mat belongs to a bot, sometimes it’s mine or someone else’s, you get what I mean
Yes, as I said by “you” I mean more average person, or me, its convoluted, does this works like that in English?
Well yes, because of it gold has value, because you can’t earn it in high amounts just by passively playing game.
You need to go and do very repetitive crap, and not for 20 mins but for few hours
Which makes buying WoW tokens SO MUCH MORE attractive even. You see that, right? Earning gold is like a second job. Buying gold is more fun than playing the game for it.
The issue is simple. If you increase the gold rewards the price of everything inflates, you actually gain a net 0
Making gold to many is fun however, however to many its also not. Generally cause many dont want to invest in anything that doesnt have a power reward.
The thing is its still someone else’s gold that got transformed into token.
I’m more begrudged that not all professions can net you significant amount of gold, like how would I farm gold with inscription? I like inscription and I want to earn money with it
I suggest that if there is no loot in m+ after you finished it there should be at least 2-3k reward for you so you can fix your gear and buy some more consumables.
I dont think it’ll happen if m+ gives decent gold… what made garrisons nuts was that you could log on for 10min across your chars and make thousands of gold… doing a key is 30min ish gameplay for some reward…
There is a vast and I mean cataclysmic gap between the weath of players. People like me run massive alt army’s which churn out gold like mad. (Currently at 38m at time of writing an I am aware that is small fry as far as goblins go)
Putting more gold into every day game play I feel will help bridge that gap a little.
