I really think the "sprint" animation should be used for speed buffs below 60% already

I usually don’t upload videos on Youtube, especially not for Forum discussions, but for this I will make an exception.

When playing today I encountered a much more consistent “visual inconvenience” in regards of the character animations. See for yourself.

Run/Sprint animation differences between Speed levels

As you can see in the video, I have at first a movement speed of 65% or higher (due to Dragonriding Buff, World Event Buff and my own 11% speed stat due to enchantments). My character uses the sprint animation in this case. But once the Dragonriding buff runs out, my character starts to make weird steps due to the default run animation being played on a speed level that looks anything but normal.

Since Blizzard is in general working on improving the game to modern standards, can they please drop the percentage requirement for the sprint animation to kick in from 65/70% to 50%, maybe even 30%?

It would make the game look much more organic in case of the animations and less “old and unpolished”. Especially for races like Draenei and Tauren it could massively improve the immersion.

That’s why I always try to avoid getting too many passive run speed buffs on rogue, it makes my character run like an idiot. Not that human sprint animation is any better though…

Maybe they should rework the animations too.

You could like the main topic or my specific comment. That would at least show your agreement for Blizzards occasional CM.
