I leveled and geared my elemental shaman in bfa with ins and outs. I wanted to play casual pvp. Since i can’t gear on bgs, I played a lot of mythics. At the end i have 450 ilvl. But i feel very squishy and immobile in bgs. I can be killed with 2 hits from a paladin. And i don’t know who designed this class but shouldn’t ranged classes be more mobile than melee so that they can kite and deal damage? I don’t know how i can outpace without ghostwolf. Even then i don’t feel safe.
So my question is how can i make shaman more durable? I heard i need to stack versatility but i don’t know how can i gather versatility gear before next expansion. If you know quick way lmk.
Also for the next expansion, which ranged class will be good for casual bgs? I want good survivability and mobility. I want to try shadow priest but i don’t want to stuck on it like a bad way as i did with shaman.
Pick mage, they are op like every expansion plus they work in pvp ranked very good, next one is warlock, pretty much overtuned class . Shaman is garbage now and in SL too. Dont make mistake like me. Shaman will be always my main, but i just cant play them like this.
well 450 ilvl is about 25-30 ilvls behind everybody else who played on a higher lvl.
Casual pvp is pretty dead because we have lots of high ilvl players in bgs.
Also on top of the 25 ilvls that you are missing, you have no worthwhile corruptions which boost your char by probably 50%+
Compare your shaman vs mine:
You got 1% versatility so you got a 0.5% dmg reduction from players
I got 50% versatility so I got 25% less dmg from everything.
On top of it I do 50% more dmg than you do.
Obviously that is also why you think it is so bad.
Ele shaman is pretty good in bgs and if you free cast you pop people with 150k crits back to back. The burst is pretty crazy.
You can also kite very good and be a nightmare for melees. If 2 people jump on you and you got no healer then you are dead, but who isn’t aside from mage, wl, rogue?
I agree with totemtoez, you would for sure have a bad experince with pretty much any class with your ilvl and no corruptions. Shamans have highburst and can kite alright in a bg. But m8 it took me like 4w to get to 475+ ilvl with all essence and stuff so give your sham a fair shot😊
Our issue is more about not getting even inved to m+ or raids if u dont a guild since everyone think shaman is bad in bfa. Which they are if u compare to other topclasses
Since Vanilla Shaman has been squishy it’s unfortunately part of the class.
You’ll never be able to back-flip, step dance or break-dance like Hunters or Mage that is for sure.
Mobility ain’t that bad id say. I wish Elem still had the leap but you could still play with [Spectral Recovery] - [Earth Shield] && for your Azerite traits having [Pack Spirits] is quite nice and useful, as well as [On my way]
shouldn’t ranged classes be more mobile than melee so that they can kite and deal damage?
We have [Capacitor Totem], [Hex], [Earthbind Totem], [Thunderstorm] and one of the best perma slow in the game [Frost Shock]. All pretty useful against melee.
Don’t forget to equip a shield for the Armor and some melee reduction.
Also for the next expansion, which ranged class will be good for casual bgs?
The one you feel comfortable to play with and have the most fun with.
Just enjoy the game for the class/gameplay not only for the meta season!
Since i can’t gear on bgs, I played a lot of mythics. At the end i have 450 ilvl.
Do some M+ Low Keys it will be fine for some stuff and fun. (and your weekly chest)
But don’t stress too much it’s the end of the Xpac and the prepatch will come with all the quirk of any prepatch we had.
