To play a healer, but now I’m torn between a resto shaman and resto druid.

I need to sacrifice one so I can make it with the other.

Resto druids.
Pros

  • Versatile
  • Mobile
  • Feels good to see health bars stablize from your Hots.

Cons

  • Proactive playstle
  • Harder to play at a good level

Resto shaman
Pros

  • Cool fantasy
  • Cool mogs
  • Reactive playstyle
  • Good damage for healer

Cons

  • No tank spec
  • Has hard casts

What would you play if you had to choose one?

So if a guy pointed a gun at you and said play WoW but not a shaman, what would you do?

I pref shaman healing. Their kit just feels very complete. They have a tool for just about every situation and feel very well rounded. They can even dip their toe into proactive healing with Cloudburst Totem.

It also helps that for me, personally enh is a hundred times more fun to play than any druid DPS spec. I like Guardian and Resto, but druid Dps specs aren’t for me.

I also vastly prefer shaman mogs, they get some amazing sets!

Yep, druids hard to play in melee dps too, and enhance is just far more simpler to understand.

Yeah feral is a lot more difficult mechanically, for me it’s more just I find the whole thematic of smacking enemies with loud thundering blows more satisfying than the quiet squelches and wierd sounds of feral druid. I mained enh in WoTLK and Cata for a bit so having maelstrom weapon back is like a huge awesome nostalgia trip.

Boomkin has never appealed to me, ever, so that’s just off the table.

Since mid legion when they change feral sounds i refuse to play it they sound so silly now.
Give me a shaman whacking things with doomhammer !

I do find ferals extremely cool though, it’s just knowing I can understand a shaman a lot easier, fantasy wise they’re both up there as being awesome for me.
