Hear me out:
Blood Elves harness whatever energies that go their way in this indirect practical way:
They’re not such divoteès to the light as much as they got no other choice but to suck out mana and arcane thats entangled with holy light because of the freaky Naaru in the sunwell.
Same with the Fel and the imprisoned demon souls into these green crystals you see all around Silvermoon that they bring from Outland which give them the green eyes.
In the new expansion we got a similar situation we had in WOD with Overgrowth or whatver its called.( someone please correct me) and the expansion is all about Blood Elves and the High Elves the Amani Trolls infused with this mutated nature magic.
So… what if… blood elves harnass and learn from all of this and → Blood Elf Druids!
I would argue that blood elves already possess all the necessary knowledge to be druids as evidenced by the fact that we had to fight the Sunseeker botanists and their supervisor High Botanist Freywinn (who incidentally even wears the druid T1 set; that’s got to mean something) in the Botanica back in Burning Crusade.
And as already pointed out right at the beginning of the gameplay trailer we see a section of Quel’Thalas which shows NPCs next to the plant overgrowth (or maybe the emerald dream?). For now I suppose these are blood elves and who practice their nature skills.
Additionally since the alliance will presumably get an exclusive second race for demon hunters (which are elves) it would in my opinion be a justified move to give the horde blood elf druids. It has been requested numerous times in the past and now it would the perfect time. If not for the start of the expansion then maybe for patch 12.1. I’m cautiously optimistic.
Well, it would be nice to have at least one Druid beauty race on the Horde’s side
It gets even deeper than that.
According to the Wiki there is an implication that there was a tree named Thas’talah or “Light of the Forest”, which behaved exactly like a World Tree.
Infact the Bow legendary from The Burning Crusade was created using one of its branches.
The Scourge created Deathholme where it once stood.
While the Wiki vaguely implies that Thas’talah is a world tree but doesnt directly state it, there is an early concept map refering to it directly as a “World Tree”.
