They center their entire keybinding methodology around ASDW(or SDFE) which is an extremely problematic area of the keyboard. They have to use their pinky finger to press shift which is one of the least controllable fingers in the body when there is another way to utilize another finger to press another modifier and make it extremely more comfy.
So what is your grand solution? You have highlighted a āwrong wayā but not said what the ārightā way is.
If 99% of people use bindings around WASD then itās likely the most practical way.

Think about another area in the keyboard with modifiers too and another finger that can press one.

Close, but not shift. Thereās a way comfier modifier around there.
i guess alt then, well cant say its self evident to be easier but using thumb to press modifier must be easier than pinky so i can imagine where you are coming from
I think itās rather ignorant that your way of comfort should be equal to everyone elses. How would you know what is comfortable for me to press and what isnāt?

And itās not best to be ijkl. Move one to the left and itās way comfier. It might depend on the keyboard (or human) but Iāve tried in 2-3 types of keyboards and it works.

Itās all about personal preference dudeā¦your always gonna find it easier to use what your comfortable using.
I get grief because even though I play on pc now I still use an xbox controller for fps games rather then keyboard/mouseā¦yes I appreciate keyboard/mouse can be faster but itās not faster āfor meā because Iāve been playing consoles since I was a little kid and Iām used to a controller for those type of games so why would I throw away what I know and can play without even thinking about just because someone else tells me something else works better for them?
Same with keybinds in mmos.

Are you a superhuman that controls their pinky so easily? You know whatās objectively naĆÆve about peopleās binds? That they use the BOSS finger the thumb to only jump which is almost the most useless ability in the game or at least itās just one ability.
Considering my child like hands I have everything on ctrl and alt.

I donāt think itās that subjective. For example I AGREE that controllers are comfy and they can be amazing for gaming (especially the DS4 especially if you need motion controls (e.g. in Wii U/Switch emulators) though for MMOs they may have too few binds.
The reason I think the subjectively is low is that we are all humans and our fingers/hands are similar in functionality so itās mainly the total size that differs unless you have an injury/disability.

What you talking about. The isolated arrows away from all other keys? And how do you use abilities (mouse-clicking or no-mouse?)?
I keybind off the numbers on the right including /*- insert / home etcetc.
There is no right or wrong way, its personal choice and what works for you. I have reasons for doing it the way I do.
Also, my pinky has the same amount of control as my thumb. Itās not like hitting the button harder makes me do more dps, does it?

Iām left handed plus mine father started to teach me to play the piano since I was 8.
I can almost keep on balance a volleyball on the pinky alone.

Itās not about the force. Itās about how decisively controllable that finger is. If you place it where I said then itās already on the modifier without moving at all so itās also about not having it do any movements.
Not saying I play with controller for mmos dude I donāt think you feasibly could with the amount of keybinds needed. But for games that suit it I do, and I get grief for that because apparently even though it slows me right down because Iām.not used to it I should be using keyboard and mouse because itās āfasterā.
It is all personal preference dude, what works for you may not work for someone else. It much depends what you are used to using. For instance with my controller I donāt have to think I have the muscle memory by now to use those controls without thinking. And the same with keybindsā¦If your used to pressing certain keys Iām sure you can cycle through them quickly without thinking however if you change those keys your gonna have to stop and think again sometimes before it becomes natural. Thatās the personal preference coming in.
