I still don't get what genius thought WoW PvP is good with tons of CCs

To put it into perspective for you how PvP feels for me as a player…

It feels like you are playing on your brothers PC against others. And every few seconds you get the keyboard and mouse ripped out of your hands and after some time given back to you by your older sibling.

Edit: And by the time you get the keyboard and mouse handed back you are (almost) dead.

I really don’t get how any of you WoW PvPers has fun with those CCs compared to other PvP games out there.

Mind to explain what makes it so interesting for you to play this… This garbage?

I also hate it.

Plus it seems like people have an addon that tells them when you use a good CD because I always get stunned into oblivion when I use one.

Yes, I am aware of that. I really don’t get how Blizzard doesn’t see such addons as literal cheats.

If your opponent can see when you use a good CD because of an addon and not because of actually reading the combat going on, that is the equivalent to looking into your fellow players poker cards while not showing yours.

Information is a big advantage in MMORPGs and PvP games, just like Information in warfare is key to success.

It’s so annoying. It’s like playing split screen Halo snipes with a screen peeker. You line up a headshot and they move then say “Screen peek? Nah I didn’t do that!”

They see it but blizz doesnt give af bout it, they care only bout pve end game players nth else

I only play it for mogs. Pvp is awful and has been awful for a looong time. Season 1 of tbc I got duelist as a holy priest. Season 2 I got duelist as a frost mage. Season 3 & 4 I only played to like weapon level because I was raiding on 2 different
toons. Played to 2.2k as feral in wotlk for the weapon.

Then they just started changing pvp and making it worse for every season. Eventually I just stopped doing it for anything but mogs as a result.

I quit playing tank in OW1 because it was just dumb how much you were being CCed and I pretty much stopped WoW PvP because it was just getting too heavy on stopping you from playing the game.

Becouse disableing addons like that is nearly imposible unless you gona ban all addons. All thouse addons do is take info aveliable fore all players and make it more visable

Then the logical step would be to make the need for such addons irrelevant by incorporating Addon functions into the game itself?

I mean, with the UI reworks that are still ongoing this could be done later this expansion.

If you get stunned repeatedly you will be on diminish return, this means that you can pop your best cooldowns because your enemies cannot punish you and your teammates are free to go wild because if they are punishing you on dr they are NOT stunning them. You enemies will either try to defend but burst timer in wow is longer than defending time so if you stun the healer that usually results in a death…
EDIT this is for op i dont know how to take the reply away

Agreed, i often joke that pvp just feels like that frustration you get when you played call of duty as a kid, then your xbox controller’s battery went out, so you’re giving the enemy a free 5+ secounds while you switch

WoW PvP would have the depth of super mario without CCs. (Not like it’s much better now).
LoL characters with their 4 buttons have more diverse fights and unique situations than WoW arenas where people just los behind a pillar then interrupt and burst.

Personally I would do 2 major changes to make it better without making it as you said “super mario” like.

  1. Cap DDs and Tanks self-heal, only have Healers uncapped
  2. Have hard-immunities instead of diminishing returns after a CC is followed by a CC of the same school/effect within 15s (say, a stun followed by another stun within 15s simply fails to hit)

This is the most ‘Just the Two of Us: 1750 - earned 2011’ take I’ve seen in a while

Don’t talk when you’re so blatantly out of touch with the reality of arenas please and ty

Once you’ve spent a few decades in gaming, you’ll start to see patterns instead of unique magical systems.
You don’t need to play a game to understand how it works (and quite frankly WoW’s PvP has always been a shallow gimmick, hence blizz barely devoted any resources to it).
I know it’s community fancies themselves hardcore and better than PvE players but the truth is the majority doesn’t take part in it simply because it sucks.

You obviously do. As if you did, you would understand that interrupts have been nerfed, meaning that you don’t ‘interrupt and burst’, rather, you’re looking for interrupts during bursts.

More like fancies themselves better in PvP than PvE players that have got no achievement in PvP worth noting in 12 years?

More like it’s a safer zone for you to fight against computer automated fights that do the exact same thing every time. I tried Mythic raiding once. Unbelievably easy, no wonder you guys love PvE so much. 6 hours a week where Weakauras play the game for you, and then you can convince yourself you’re actually good players!

And yet, we’re in a thread where the PvP community (once again) doesn’t understand why the game’s design drifted in a certain direction. The same community who can’t see why despite a decade of class homogenization turned each class into a swiss army knife, arenas are still so unbalanced everyone on high rank plays -insert current meta here-.
That community is now calling the designers incompetent.

Unlike PvP where the same comps appear 90% of the time making the exact same plays on the same maps (which are all empty rooms with a pillar in the middle).

Anyway, I hope you guys get the changes you want (though most likely the only new content you’ll get is another empty room with a pillar).

You two, stop fighting and stay on topic.

So out of touch that you don’t even realise that solo shuffle is the most played arena bracket and that there are now map pools which means that there isn’t the same maps all the time

This is what happens when clowns talk about content they haven’t touched for 12 years

Stick to fighting NPC’s ffs the brain rot is unreal

All arena maps are the same map mate… An empty room with 1-2 pillars and different colored textures but nothing about the environment interacts with the flow of the fight.
It’s really hard to explain WoW’s problems to people who only play WoW.

Anyway, cheers.

What’s the same about Mugumbala and Ruins of Lordaeron?
