I’ve been playing this game for a long time now but I still completely suck at PvP. I can’t blame the rubbish pc or dial-up connection anymore either. Whether it be open world, battlegrounds, brawls or whatever. I don’t feel effective or dangerous. I’ve even tried playing…horde… (admittedly that did help)
If I could put it down to a single ‘problem’ that I come across, its that I seem to do little to no damage to enemy players and I seem to take a disproportionately high amount of damage. Am I supposed to pop all my cooldowns for every encounter?! That doesn’t seem right…
Is this a common thing that you guys hear? What am I missing?
There is some degree of scaling, but not nearly the same as in legion. Gear makes a massive difference.
Class+spec also matters a lot. The classes that feel powerful in the sense of dealing a lot of dmg and having a lot of mitigation and selfhealing are typically hero classes. If you want a ranged class Id recommend destro. And if you’re doing a lot of bgs, Id recommend a ranged class unless you have reliable healers around.
Tldr: roll destro and farm gear. Next patch comes in jan, so play casually til then and get ready for the farm
Try to choose better classes maybe. Shadow priests 5 buttons. Anyone can make crazy amounts of damage with it. Because I dont have any shadow priest who cant make less damage than 10.000k on a random bg.
Balance is nerfed after season 1.
Fire mage is good with greater pyro.
Destruction lock is also good.
Dh is good 3 buttons class thats why they top damage tables on random bgs if they practised long enough.
But dont recommend warrior. They need to use passive skills to damage around. Warbreaker , recklessness etc. Many things they need to use to damage on a bg. On other classes you dont need to.
If you are going to play melee , play dk or paladin.
Monks except healing not in a good shape on a random bg.
Higher ilvl, correct AP and essences make ultimate difference. Depending on class you should collect correct AP and essences and focused on damage or defence.
