I think it's time to remove or raise the Max characters caps

Well now that we are getting these new dope looks and customization options(hope to see more throughout the patch, but that’s another topic :P) It would be really nice to rise the cap from 50 characters on more.
Yes ok I have about 20smtg characters on various levels, but man- those character customizations look so good that I’d right now make at least 20 humans <3 and maaaaaany other races

you could just occasionally change the looks of a single character, or 2 maybe, you dont need to have any more than 1 or 2 of the same class, so a cap of 24 would be fine

You would need 194 character slots for every race/class combination.

Double that for every gender/race/class combo.

I doubt we will ever get near 400 character slots, i can barely get a name for 1 alt, let alone 387

No. No one truly needs or will even be able to keep up to date with 50 characters, let alone more. If you really want more just buy another account.
It would be silly of blizzard to allow that many characters for each account in my opinion.

I’d like to up the cap by about 10, maybe 15.

seems we got our typical blizz bot here again…
still wonder what you guys fear so much with blizz raising the char cap.
is it the fear that suddenly all blizzards time goes into setting the number of allowed chars higher that they wont have any time left to program anything els…

i mean really what is it to you if i have 50 chars or 100? why you guys are so against this?

I agree. I don’t see any harm with increasing the character max cap. It’s just an option that some people would like to have a choice of.
You can either make just 5 or even just 1 character, or you can make as many characters as you want. It’s your choice. The game isn’t forcing you to make over 50 characters. It would be there for people who do want it.

excuse me?
Why do you feel you need more than 50 characters? Like I said just buy another account if you really want more, the average player barely hits half the cap.
Personally i couldn’t care less, but look at it from a business stand point. Why would blizzard up the cap when it’s already at a more than fair cap when they could instead cash in on the few people who want more by having them buy another account.

… … That’s a joke? Right?

Look. This shouldn’t be a black and white concept. It should just be there for those who want it. What if the account is from the Vanilla days? They might have so many characters from all those years, wanting to experience the whole game as it grows. Not to mention how we have two sides of the story (Horde and Alliance) and how we also get more allied races.

excuse me?
why do you want to force others to buy more accounts when they want everything on 1 orderly account without having to switch

i can understand it from a sleazy business work around to earn more money wile continue bringing out new races but thats not what you were going for in your first post as it was a more personally grope of you finding it silly and to that i say again " why do you care" if i want more chars on 1 account why you care?

Even with this assumed, there are 6 core races, 5 allied races and Pandaren. If you make one of each including a pandaren for each faction, that’s 24 characters. Even if you make one of each gender, that’s 48 characters, still two shy of the cap.

50 is perfectly reasonable to explore a huge variety of character types.

You’d need to add 13 more allied races for each faction and even then you’d still have enough to make one character of each race in the game.

If you was to create every single race for both horde and alliance, that’s 24 (including 2 pandaran) then if you want to do the same but for the opposite gender, there’s 48, still leaving you with 2 more character slots if you truly want. That’s more than enough to fulfil your alt needs right? How many characters have you got you actively play on out of curiosity during legion/bfa?

But what about the Classes? There are many classes also.

yup that makes 48 indeed good counting
but then again what about the extra nostalgic chars with it?
2 extra trauren a extra nelf cause male nelf female nelf but then demon hunter makes 3 nelfs same with blood elfs thats + 4 and look at there 52 char now oops ( and the tauren and normal nelfs and belfs were already made in BC )

and then we have possible upcoming allied races in the future …

Is it reasonable that blizzard should make it possible to allow players to make one of each class for every race?
Can a player realistically tend to that amount of characters? even if we work with the ballpark low figure of the 6-class minimum (most races avaerage at 8) that’s a whopping 138 character slots. 138 characters played regularly?

Perhaps if WoW were a MoBA or mobile game where you could easily get a character progressed in a day, but realistically nobody is keeping 138 characters up to date. The argument that blizzard should allow you to keep them irrespective is weak, and leads to problems regarding the naming policy. Also it’s about the amount of information the servers need to the store and keep around.

I mean in WoW it’s not like the classes get unique narrative much is it? I’d get it if it was like SWTOR where each class gets a completely unique story through a vast majority of the game, and it massively affects how people interact with you and what stories you see as well as the gameplay. But a warlock and a druid get exactly the same quests, and interacted with identically 99% of the time. The only difference classes offer is how they play. Do you really need to replicate that for each race, I mean honestly?

It’s not a harmful ask, but from the perspective of operating a reasonable business model, you allow players to theoretically level one of each race of each class, you can kiss goodbye to the need for race or fraction change services except for the lazy people. Only an idiot would give away so much, 50 is vastly higher than most MMOs of a size comparable to WoW.

+5 more char slots would be enough for me.

well thanks for calling me a nobody >.> got a full account here and working out perfectly for me i don’t raid or do high level mythic but the rest i manage quite fine

and besides is it not up to me how i manage my time? and if they given me the option why shouldn’t i? and besides race changes are majorly done by people who stick on low number of chars anyway since they don’t wana re-level a new char and prefer to change there existing char or to switch faction for raid/pvp purposes

maby only business reason is the sales of the multiple accounts but those are mostly done by multi boxers

i really don’t understand the resistance that the raise cap haters give… it wouldn’t affect them or the game in the slightest

you have the option to buy more accounts, so why don’t you? I find it extremly hard to believe you’re keeping up with 50 characters across your one account, bur for arguments sake, lets say you are.
Now, if you’re getting maximum enjoyment out of a game by spending the majority of your time on it ( what you do with your own time is up to you, before you try putting words into my mouth), do you only value that plesure at £8 a month?
personally if I was investing that much time into WoW I wouldn’t question giving them an extra boost of funding to buy another account to show my appreciation, instead of going onto the forums demanding they give you more for nothing.

Ooooooh… Yeah… Because ActivisionBlizzard is really hurting on their fiances.

why would any business large or small give you more for nothing? It’s just bad business for any company regardless of size.
They have kept this game going for 15 years and no sign of stopping, can you imagine how much sooner the game would of gone down if they didn’t take any form of payment from anyone? They’re offering us a service, we’re paying for the service, and have the option to give more to get more, this is the way the world works in it’s simplest form.
Anyway iv’e said my piece, not going to continue this anymore. Enjoy your 50 characters
