They can’t really do that without pissing off multiple players and limiting tank options, sure we’re weak right now but we’re getting a rework + we used to be good. There’s too little tank specs in the game to justify turning one into a support spec. If they want to rework current spec into support spec it’d have to be a dps spec. But that’s back to 1st issue, changing any current spec just means severe outcry from people mainning said spec.
Id prefer not to loose tank spec on the Paladin. I quite enjoy being able to off-spec as needed and its certainly in a rough space, but managing reasonably well at the moment.
What is needed is a ground up rework like Ret got in 10.0.7.

Templar is fine dmg wise but defensive wise sucks
For ret, it needs a major buff, cant compete with Herald. But yes, from the defensive perspective, it needs a rework/buff for Prot
it’s better defensively than lightsmith lmao, the shield from HoL + 5% dr from empyrean hammer crits are better than light smith absorb shield
