I tired so much playing with DK bots

Okay, before we start, I want to say an important thing: I’m not a WoW hater. I really love this game and am not the type of player who “blizzard has gone bad, it used to be better.” I love WoW, okay? Good.

The problem I wanted to talk about: The abundance of DK bots on Arathi Basin, and Eye of the Storm. For the last week I have 9/10 bg - this is a game against DK bots. They behave like real bots: they run together, do not pay attention to anything at all and do not show any semblance of logic. If you pretend to be dead, being a hunter with FULL HP, 10 dk bots INSTANTLY stop attacking you, sit on the mount and leave like robots. But as soon as you get into the radius of visibility (even being behind them), they INSTANTLY turn around and go to beat you. They can stand near flag and don`t capture it, even if this is not their team flag right now. And please do not say that this is a multibox. I have nothing against multibox. But when the Dk crowd behaves absolutely stupidly and illogically, any player who has at least some experience in the game will immediately understand that this is a script or artificial intelligence, and not a multibox.

I love Arashi Basin, it’s a simple, clean, and enjoyable battleground, but I just can’t play it now. These bots, they always, at any time of the day, always behave in exactly the same way. If you understand the script by which they work, they are quite easy to kill, because they do not play as a team, but always run in a bunch and die from AoE skills.

I’m not complaining about the fact that it’s difficult for me to play against them. I complain that they are stupid scripted bots that spoil the game. They are not capable of creativity, tactics, it is NOT INTERESTING to play against them. They infuriate, they spoil the mood. I, like many players, want this to stop. We report them en masse, but nothing happens. The same nicknames, the same pattern of behavior. Some players on the battlefield think that Blizzard made these bots specifically so that the battlefields would be more frequent and there would always be someone to play against. But it seems to me that this is just a huge farm of stupid bots, which is kept by a moral freak.

Please tell me this is going to end soon.

Have you tried making a YouTube video and get it on the Front Page of Reddit so Blizz can actually comprehend your concern ?

sounds like a great plan.
It would be great if we could gather a large number of people to protest against this.
But, tbh, I don’t think that bots are such an INVISIBLE problem that no one writes to tech support with this problem. It feels like Blizzard just ignores our requests.

They pay the same sub as you, and that’s enough for Current Year Blizzard. There is literally nobody left to ban them - see the 40 day ticket respknse thread. If enough players - basically all BG - reports them over automated gameplay, they may get a short ban. That’s literally all you can do.

of course they pay the same as me, you’re right.
but I want to believe that it’s not just about money. games, in addition to money for the company, should bring pleasure and joy to the players. otherwise it turns into a big money making factory with cheaters, RMTs and bots.

You can believe what you will, while Blizz keeps banning bots in precisely long-enough-apart waves where they remain profitable while buying new accounts and boosts. Just clever use of capitalism mechanics

So what? They are breaking the rules and deserve a ban. They are undermining the experience of fair players as well, because bots a cheesy way of skipping honor grind.

Good one, like they care.

Oh you poor, innocent wee thing.

The cruel and unfortunate truth is that bots make an absolute deluge of cash for Blizzard/Activision. A big bot network may be running as much as 100 bots at once, each bot will have paid for a level boost, and each brings in a monthly sub.

Banning them with any regularity would result in a substantial loss of revenue.

So yes, it’s purely about money.

Shortsighted but true since once regular players leave so will bots since they revenue drops.

I am not defending the morality of their actions, just speculating how Blizzard views it. It has been clear for all 3+ years of classic that they do not seriously want to tackle the bot issue, just keep a pretense of caring.

I am saying it every single time I stumble upon topic like this : There are no players nor bots, only paying customer.

I hate such policy but I kinda came to peace with it. It is obvious that they wont do anything with bots, they had 3 years and they did only prove their lack of interest. Gimmy few more months and I ll prove my lack of interest in their game.

I agree, It has been long clear, that Blizzard dosn’t want to solve this botting crisis.
In fact, They are probably quite happy about it. Because with so many bots, they can pretend that wow is still as popular and successful as it used to be in the past. And as long as the money keeps flowing, they dont see any problem.
But it is totaly unfair to us real human nerds, because it’s US who keep this game alive (both retail and classic). Without real people playing this game, the bots will cease to exist as well.
Although Blizzard is not comming back to their senses any time soon, our duty remains the same - to COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN and wait for the miracle to happen.

[redacted] = money to Blizzard.
[redacted] pay a sub to Blizzard.
[redacted] Pay every month and play 24/7, Increasing the numbers on “subscriber count” and “player retention” and “hours played” that the developers can show off in the company’s quarterly meetings.
[redacted] farm gold that real players buy.
Those players pay a sub.
Those players play more, level alts and do more end game activities because they don’t have to worry about being poor in the game.
Those players increasing the numbers on “subscriber count”, “player retention” and “hours played” that the developers can show off in the company’s quarterly meetings.

If Blizzard bans [redacted] too fast or actually starts fixing the game code then the [redacted] companies and networks will stop trying to [redacted] the game.

Resulting in:Less subscribed accounts, Less hours played, less players logging in and overall worse numbers for the developers and the company.

All of this thanks to the modern 25+ year old gamer who thinks farming gold is “wasting time”.

Sorry Lorraen and others but NO ! We are forced to behave and respect the rules and so are they !

Just because they are paying a sub isn’t enough they are breaking the rules , report them we keep reporting them with a message explaining: this one is battleground bots …,every bg and no action taken !

Clean your game or do not ask to regular/veteran/new players customers not to cheat !

You will see this type of message and thread until you finally take actions and if you prefer bots over us then we will give up on wotlk classic and supporting you and no you can’t have my gold or anything !

Well. Tbh, i did not expect that there will be players who are not worried about this bot problem. I didn’t think I’d meet the opinion like “they pay money so it’s good for all of us”. Moreover, I did not expect statements about capitalism and “you are my poor and naive.” I, like many people, play games because they bring the type of emotions that real life does not bring. When i playing online GAMES I don’t want to think about money, human greed, bot, cheaters and companies. I want to play an online game with PEOPLE and enjoy the GAME. Not in a money making farm, but in a GAME. The fact that so many people don’t care about what’s going on makes me sad.

Unsub and go back to private servers. It’s the only way.
A really good vanilla one is opening these days as well.
It’s the perfect time to leave this sinking ship IMO.
Pservers have less bugs, less lag and bots gets dealt with swiftly.
And also they are world servers so there’s people to play with 24/7.
Is there some shady business going on in the background? Surely but I’d rather that than pay Blizzard for this garbage service we’re getting.

Blizzard does what many MO game publishers do, breaking their own rules and keeping around 20-30% of playerbase as bots. Bots owners buy boosts, pay suscription and payed character transfers if they are using mules to supply unlocked realms. A very lucrative trade offer requiring only ditching of morality by Blizzard that has long been lost anyway.

Just watch Steam stats of online across different MMOs and MO games. 40-50% of players never goes to sleep there. OK I understand that there are time zones and there is rotation of active players around the globe, but some regions have separate steam clients so their stats are excluded and these numbers mostly represent US and EU.

People are so used to bots, dk players state at the beginning of the bg that they are, in fact, not bots. It’s kind of sad.
