I want him back - The son of Durotan!

So I changed the lyrics…

"Beware, beware, the son of Durotan
Beware, I heard them cry
His words carried upon the spirit’s call
As he left his throne behind

Those widespread lands of Kalimdor
For those we fought and died
The Warchief raged upon Theramore
Because, you left our side

Why this, why this, oh son of Durotan
Why this, you walk the road astray?
Always the pride, to see our people rise
How could you walk away?

When the new Warchief praised upon the void
It teared us all apart
What else to save, but follow Darkspear-rule
As it gave us a fresh new start

But then we found upon the broken shores
Legion 'pon the rise!
And when we faced those demonlords
The Horde, lost its pride

And burried was the honor-way
Betrayed by the Dark Lady
To our faction, with our last breath cried
Beware the son of Durotan!

I heard, I heard, across the lands and sea
The spirits calling me;
“Beware, beware the Son of Durotan”,
“Beware, beware…
… of me”.

Now, let’s get into the topic

It dosen’t makes any sense that Thrall is hiding from all this that is going on right now. I really want him back in the story, but then not as Go’el-Thrall aka Green jesus. I want my warchief WC3-mode Thrall back. He has stuff to fix in his so dearly Horde.

I mean, Blizzard have poorly written most of the wc3 heroes in the last 10 years, but atleast now Tyrande, Malfurion and Jaina has become pretty damn awsome in their own ways. And Rokhan having his prime-time in wow. Even the Night elves as a people is turning into that savage nelves we got to know in our childhoods. Because of that I see a great potential for Thrall to come back in that identity we want him to be.

Most of all I wish he becomes the new Warchief (But dont make Sylvanas into Garrosh 2.0, plz…), because right now it feels like the Horde is damn shattered and I see atm no other character with that amount of authority and respect among the other Horde-leaders than Thrall. I think even the Alliance would think again if the Horde is having Thrall in charge somehow.
Who knows, he could perhaps even save Saurfang in the state the writers are taking him…

They have to do something with Thrall. He can’t just dissapear to nowhere only because the spirits in Azeroth are not answering him because of something he did in another world, in another dimension (again, terrible writing).

This is a very good song

A really nice rework. I don’t think it’s cringy.

And it’s spot on.

I want Thrall back (not Green Jesus Go’el but Thrall). And I want his Horde back.

Darkshore warfront makes me feel like I am actually fighting yet another threat to the world, not the opposite faction.

I hope Baine and Thrall have been conspiring against the waifuchief and use their combined peaceboy powers to dethrone her. I’d love to see Baine and Thrall working together.

u got daughter of Durotan with maghars

Yeah I don’t understand why they did that . Grom still has a son but Durotan somehow ends up with a girl…no doesn’t sit right with me.

As for Thrall coming back, I think it would be a viable option for good reworking. But at the same time I really don’t want to have Aggra swanning around the place, I have never liked her character or how Thrall has acted since he got married.

I vote with a ‘maybe’ considering on the HOW of his return. But most dirt he gets its just green Jesus hate trainers who forgot that we followed around khadgar, Velen, and Malfurion far longer as neutral plot leaders. Give it a try.

I’d love to see Thrall kicking booty and Baine dying in vain.

How could anyone still have any shred of respect for Thrall after the Garrosh fiasco?

“Thrall: Garrosh, I know you don’t want to be Warchief, and it is painfully clear that you do not belong on a throne, but you are the new Warchief because our idiotic people will follow only the son of Hellscream.
Vol’jin: This is stupid.
Cairne: Please tell me that you are joking.
Jaina: Yeah, sure, let’s give all the military power to an orcish supremacist. That will sure end well for my Human city so close to his territory.”

After the Fall of Theramore:

“Thrall: Jaina, Stop! Do not destroy Orgrimmar!
Jaina: And why shouldn’t I? Especially since those barbarians are feasting and celebrating the horrible deaths of all my loved ones.
Thrall: Because revenge is bad, Jaina. Now stop. Oh, and sorry for making Garrosh Warchief. Bye.”

Disgusting. Thrall is much worse than a fool. He is a coward. The sad thing is that he is the best choice when it comes to a Warchief of the Horde because he is the only orc raised by a Human lord.

I’d want Thrall back just to have someone who is on the power level of Jaina and Malfurion/Tyrande on the Horde. Right now it seems kinda weird why they don’t just march into Orgrimmar and force a surrender. I just hope they won’t make a civil war story again.

Don’t give Arctur food.

Too late!!

Because wars in this franchise are not won by a single individual. Unless you are some mastodontic entity like Sargeras, Archimonde or Deathwing.

I honestly miss having Thrall around, especially considering the state of the factions. Thrall was widely unpopular following WoD, but considering that people want him rather than the corpse says a lot about the quality of the writing.

And why? From what we have seen lately these three alone could easily defeat the troops stationed at Orgrimmar. I remember in Stormwind that Talanji, Thalyssra, Zul, Rokhan, Nathanos and the Champion of Azeroth together had to flee from Jaina. Zul even said that Jaina would win that fight. Plus, don’t the Alliance have spaceships too? Sylvanas won’t be enough to stop them. The other horde leaders are all rather good at swinging an axe really hard, that won’t help. It all feels a bit weird, but blizzard chose to write these characters as powerful as they did. I don’t want them to pretend now that they choose to not use that power, when Jaina and Tyrande have also been written to be consumed by desires of vengeance.
Also Malfurion vs. Thrall would be an epic battle. Maybe the third warfront!

Because sadly this game is built on a two-faction system. Otherwise, Jaina would have already annihilated Orgrimmar back in Mists without deus ex machina Thrall and Kalec coming at the very last moment.

Thank yoou :star_struck:

I agree.

Don’t kill my High Chieftain, its all we got!

This. The Horde kind of only have Sylvanas with some greater powers. All other are, ofc, great fighters and skilled with their weapons. But there is no way they can match up with the Alliance leaders.

Give the Horde the worlds most powerful Shaman to atleast match up a little bit.

Apart of Thrall will remain forever in us all. Especially for the Nigh Warriors, because his head was used in the ritual.

That…
Would literally destroy them both.
Nature versus elements?

But yes we need Thrall back.
Not as warchief but as a Champion to eveb power scale balance a little.

Also Arctur is correct.

Finally that’s an awesome rewrite now do one with Sylvanas.

there is a mistake in the song, even if I find the song good… we didnt lose our pride on broken shore. We assured that day that actually there was a future day. We could of course just stayed there and let everyone of the horde and alliance die… no people to defend no world. Maybe that would have been the good ending.

Everyone dead. The end

I have no problems with Durotan having a daugther in the AU. It would simply be confusing to have a literal male AU Go’el appear. Blizzard made it very clear they didn’t want duplicate characters in WoD.

What I do find surprising is that Geya’rah is the only prominent leader among the Mag’har who came to Azeroth. I think Blizzard have done a decent job introducing a number of secondary characters with the earlier Allied Races. I would have liked to have seen a new generation of “Warlords” so to speak, one leader representing each Clan.
