Tbh, I don’t understand why they cram the raids anyways with so much enemies most players will skip anyways…
It makes the raids just feel annoying.
If teams would have to actually kill every enemy on the floor to open the entrance to the next area, it would be a much better experience because those “leftovers” would be already dead if a wipe happens.
Okay, this OP is a bit confusing, as you seem to be discussing the logistics of moving through a raid as opposed to healing itself but I’ll give you a few pointers as somebody who has healed for the past 15~ years.
Move your unit frames closer to the middle of your screen. Some people prefer them above the action bars, I personally still have them aligned left but just to the left of my weak aura UI.
The reason for this is because you will be looking at the health bars pretty much constantly and unless you have trained your eyes independently, you will need to also see your character and what’s happening around you.
Set up mouse over macros, this will be redundant in 9.2 as they are being baked into the UI but for now, set these up and save clicking on each target to heal them.
As a druid (?) I presume, utilize prowl if you get caught out and need to get back to the group, it won’t aggro mobs (unless they can see stealth) unless you are practically on top of them.
If you find yourself with aggro and your team haven’t noticed/reacted, utilize shadowmeld as a Nelf, it’s one of the few benefits of being Alliance.
It’s worth mentioning that pre-healing (before damage, which is often desirable for a druid) can generate aggro, maybe wait until the tank has aggro or at least, until he’s in danger unless absolutely essential.
World of Warcraft doesn’t really have support classes, you could argue that Disc was supposed to fill this niche but it doesn’t. You are a dedicated healer, if you choose to heal. There are no half measures. That said, this does not mean you should afk when you don’t need to heal, healer dps is important, there is nothing more frustrating than a healer that jumps around doing nothing when they aren’t healing.
