I want to get 27 inch monitor

Hello.

I recently bought an “affordable gaming PC” to replace my dead laptop.

  • Intel Core i5-4750 @ 3.20 Ghz
  • 16 GB Ram
  • Geforece GTX 1650

It can run WoW on ultra on my ancient SyncMaster 2032BW 19 inch monitor (1680x1050) on Ultra settings @ 60fps.

But I’d really like to get a budget 27 inch 1440p monitor next.

I’m happy playing at 60ish fps.

My question is… Will my computer run wow at 1440p @60ish fps even if I have to lower some settings. (I prefer vanilla water effect anyway lol)

Thank Youu.

It should work, if needed at lower than high settings (likely Ardenweald will be most demanding).

You can also check my benchmarks - https://rk.edu.pl/en/world-warcraft-shadowlands-beta-gpu-benchmarks/ where GTX 1050 Ti is around 80% relative performance of GTX 1650. At 1080p mode 7 GTX 1050 Ti gets close to 100 FPS in Dazar’alor while at 3440x1440 (ultrawide 1440p) it goes bit below 60 FPS.

In combat/mass actor scenarios the CPU will be limiting FPS anyway.

What is the point in going for a higher resolution if you have to turn down the settings by quite a bit and in the end having the game look worse on the new display… you are basically downgrading then

I basically did the same thing before i upgraded my hwhole PC.
I got a 1440P 27" and at the time still had a 3570K with a GTX 970 OC (which is faster than your 1650) and i had to lower settings to 5-6 to get close to 60 stable (where the CPU did not limit, which it did alot and so will yours).
