I want to know the reason for this 25% nuke overkill

Hello,

I have been playing enhancement shaman for quiet a while, I enjoy the spec a lot and it’s very fun and spammy, I was looking forward being actually competitive with it in DF. I know it’s not always about numbers, but at the end of the day, numbers do matter if you are serious about pushing content to higher levels.

Why did we get a 25% nerf though? I get it, we were overperforming compared to some classes, but we were by no mean the top dps or Overpowered.

Infact WW monk which is way stronger than enhance in both BETA and Prepatch, ended up with a smaller nerf and is still topping content, while we get a heft 25% nerf that puts us back in the low end of the charts.

Not only that, but now to compete in DF you are forced to rely on gambling for Dre procs in order to compete with classes that can do good damage reliably.

I wanna have a blue post from blizzard explaining this nerf and revert some of it, do a 10% nerf and see if it needs more adjustment.

This is so disapointing considering DF is supposed to be THE expantion that would renew the faith of players on blizzard and their ability to make the game good.

In DF actually enh was FAR ahead of everyone else, so the nerf was 100% ok for BETA/DF.

It’s mostly for DF/BETA, in live it is abit much for still “ok” (it put us in the bot middle of the pack but not dead last).

There is not much they can say. Even if they come and say “yeah enh is OP, and we need to nerf it to bring it down with the rest in DF”, no one is gonna be “oh ok, this sounds reasonable, go ahead”.

I have been playing it in beta and it was not far ahead of everyone else, it was ahead of other classes and specs yes ( especially if you abuse the new raid melee aoe trinket) but wasn’t the undisputed rank one dps by a long shot, since I have run keys with WW monks/ferals who were pumping as much if not more in some situations.
I honestly don’t care about prepatch tuning, most I care about is DF and I’m not sure if we’re middle of the pack at least from a m+ point of view since it was the most content I have run in beta, in raiding I can’t really say since I haven’t done much testing for it.

Well Blizzard usually comes with explanations for stuff saying " we think that X was overperforming compared to the rest of classes so we decide to nerf Y " but throwing one of the biggest nerfs in the history of wow without a single comment, especially that some abilities like crash lightning, stormstrike or flame shock didnt need it makes it feel it’s just a lazy nerf without much thought to it.

Are you alright bro? 25% nerf put is in #23 out of 24 in sepulcher over night. Still okay?

What ridiculous utility or survivability do we have to warrant such a mentally r-worded decision.

The nerfs are based on beta balance, current balance does not interest them at all from what I see. I base that on the fact that they left Aff lock untouched with arms warrior, aswell as NERFING mm hunter (which actually WAS the 24th spec).

Also, keep in mind that taking overall damage logs of mythic for every boss does not show the full picture. There are many things that are inflating the logs of other specs (motes being the most obvious) that enh cannot take advantage of.

And if you still feel robbed, then a reminder that in SoD we were the last dps (being 5-10% behind the second to last). If blizzard can move us from dead last to top 3 dps in a single patch (talking about SotFO), then they can also do the same without reasoning.

It still takes 5 seconds to open details! and look at our different abilities…
Stormstrike underwhelming
WF underwhelming
Flametongue (lol)
Crash Lightning underwhelming
Frost Shock underwhelming

Just nerf us correctly, and comment on it.

Saying that tuning is based on beta also doesn’t help it, since we weren’t 25% ahead on beta, unless you see those enhancement shamans using the storm elemental trinket from raid who does absurd damage outdps all the range dps in the group by a long shot, I don’t say we weren’t ahead of many, but we werent the top 1 dps by a long shot. If you wanna nerf us at least start by doing a small nerf then adjust if needed, not just take whopping 25% nerf out of the blue without any context.
