Hi,
from what I heard, people seem to get banned as soon as they send large amounts of gold to another account, is that correct? I am hesitant to send a friend gold… Any recommendations?

You dont .
dont, he can also play the game like its meant to be, like every normal player does
Send it to me
Use g2g, will help
Was gonna sponsor my mate with some gold to catch up on his only character, but we decided it was best not to, so I traded him items to resell instead. No bans given so far.
Man they don’t ban thousands of bots in game, but they will give you ban for helping friend yeah right… Im at stockade now, so many bots!!! 7 day ego i see the same bots ppl report them and? Nothing happened!!!
Just record your action, if they ban you Go to court because they violated your consumer rights and fight for millions of dollars in compensation.
We live in strange times, corporations violate consumer rights, which result in not only fines, but even imprisonment, and nothing?
Seriously.
I had a friend banned who screenshotted every part of the trade (he traded classic era gold for SOD gold) and was banned for 2 weeks, when he appealed and asked if he could send them all the screenshots and other evidence it wasn’t dodgy he was told it didn’t matter and the ban was still being upheld.
He came back after his ban to having even less gold than he did BEFORE the trade, they also removed some of his PvP gear even though it was bought pre-trade.
Blizzard have GMs but all they’re doing is keeping an eye on their automated systems and responding whenever these systems flag something. They don’t investigate because they’re incentivised to deal with every job within 5 - 10 mins of starting it. Gotta love stupid mandates like that from upper management who’ve got no idea how customer service jobs like GMs work and that management insisted ways of being efficient means doing a bad/half arsed job.
It’s ridiculous tbh…
As stated above they let bots run rampant but people get banned for trading gold or using the F word so stupid
I do believe you are severly underestimating how difficult it is to deal with bots.
Pretty much every online game have issues with botters, the more popular a game is, the harder it is to deal with them due to the massive amount that are created.
wow is not free to play game.
there are tons of bots not hiding anymore, bans them all several times and botter will stop or atleast will hide
if you ban bots faster then they pay back subscription - there will be no bots
On free to play private servers there were much less bots, because devs simply cared
Dunno how many times blizzard need to explain this before you get it inside your thick skulls.
Bots DO NOT CARE about the subscription cost, cause the majority of these are paid for by stolen cards and accounts.
Privates had less bots because there were much less interest in the game, thus much less demand for buying gold. But most private servers had their own way of selling gold to their players, so bots were obsolete.
Sounds like an excuse, why would botter spend stollen money on sub instead of buying something else, if botting is not profitable?
Gold cost was much higher on every private server I played, and every time I quit I sold it instantly, demand was high
Use auction house. Don’t sell white item, only green+
Pretty sure that your “friend’s” mount only costs around 100 gold.
How can it be so difficult to detect characters following the same pixel perfect path thousands of times per day?
You obviously have absolutely no clue how any of this works.
You cant use stolen cards to just get money out, cause they get charged back, running bot farms are just one of many ways to create real life value out of these stolen cards before they get discovered.
Botting is profitable, dont think anyone have said otherwise.
Obviously there are players willing to buy, low demand in this case is the amount of total players being low compared to official servers making it less attractive for massive bot farms.
I guess you can just write up a program that take care of that then, you will probably become a millionaire.
sure, keep swallowing whatever multi billion company puts in your throat
“I am not capable of replying properly cause i am talking about things i have no clue about, so ill just go with ad hominem instead”
Calling it naive to believe that blizzard is doing what they can to prevent / ban bots when in reality blizzard does literally everything to cut costs in WoW (no human support, 20yo technology when it comes to their servers, less developers(or not even a single one like in wotlk) than needed) isnt exactly ad hominem.
Yes, mmorpgs will alway have bots, but the amount we have in WoW (especially wotlk and now SoD) is a result of pure ignorance, and I cant blame blizz. I mean, even though bgs are plagued with bots and you do meet more bots than players in the world, we still pay for the game, so why would they move a single finger to fix it.
