I was almost kicked for talking during dungeon

Only if you dont want to talk then its fine if you dont want to talk
As for it not being a place to find new Friends? Well not if you never talk
Still no reason to kick people who are t

I’m spending my time exactly how I want to spend it, only if you insist on typing > tactics youre making mistakes. If you feel that that’s how I’m treating the run, speak up or stay silent. I dont bite and even if I did I cant physically reach you

Now I can understand high end m+ being more serious with timers and all that but for normal while leveling ? Are you sure its not you whose taking the p!ss?

It pretty much goes against the current " GO GO GO" philosophy in dungeons. Stopping to “talk about the weather” does not help to “GO GO GO” and is thus undesirable.

Yes because I’m not chatting rubbish in a place where you’re meant to be avoiding mechanics, concentrating and using cc/interupts/stuns and generally pull your weight. Its a good place to learn the game, for much harder versions of it later on.

In a sharded instance with a very high amount of people who don’t even speak english. Like I’ve said in other posts, chat at the start or end, no worries. Chat in the open world, join a guild to socialise, join a community, join a discord.

Theres a million ways to socialise in wow. I don’t agree forcing chat on people in a dungeon is the way. There’s 4 other people in there, that have joined to clear content for gear/to level. Not to have to work harder interupting, stunning, doing more dps. To pull the weight of simeone waffling on.

Its my opinion, if you don’t agree, awesome. Do what ever you want, I’m not a wow developer or people bosses. I can see why people want to socialise in there. But why not finish the run, then whisper them for a chat. Exact same out come, with a dungeon cleared faster. And ya not annoying people who dont want to chat. Or forcing chat on people who physically can not speak english.

Lets face it, there’s 2 sides to this argument. People who want to socialise more, people who want to clear faster. Both are fine, and its pure opinion. I don’t want to sound like I’m having a go at people or what ever.

I don’t get it either. Also if someone is able to pull their weight while in the middle of a fight in more stressful environment than just a normal dungeon then I just don’t mind.
If someone triggers the heck out of me due to what I’m reading I’ll vote kick because I don’t want to play with such players. Once I had someone not even making fun but literally bashing black people so I decided to initiate a vote. That’s my right as a player.

But as long as typing doesn’t cost the group time by wiping then I have no idea why people would just vote kick. Seems rather silly to me especially as you rightfully pointed out in a mmorpg…

Don’t stop being social if you feel like it, we all get those players making us go through bad experiences but you’ll eventually end up talking to nicer individuals and who knows, maybe make good friends!

That’s why I’m quite baffled as was the other party member, I didn’t come off as aggressive or go into others business. I just casually initiated some normal talk that you could talk with anyone in a pub.

The other social party member and me kept talking during the dungeon, until just before the last boss, someone tried to kick me. I am of course not sure who initiated it, or was it just one particular person, as they were mute for the majority of the run.

I do get this feeling nowdays when spamming dungeons for levels.
Whether people ‘believe’ my anecdotal experience or not. Some of the responses to this thread clearly show it to be so.

in the whole thing, you haven’t indicated in any way what you actually said … and that, to me, says that you know you said something unpleasant and had a kick initiated against you. After all, if you said nothing bad, you should have no issue with repeating some of it … as most people would, via indignation, try to expose the absurdity of the kick attempt. You, however, have done no such thing … which leads me to believe you said something unpleasant.

On the other hand, whenever I initiate a kick against someone … I never ever write anything intelligible in the box … generally something like 123, adojidgf, kfdsf … etc … cos as everyone will know why the kick has been initiated already. The fact they took time to write the message does indeed imply to me that they weren’t incensed … just being gits.

Im a positive person, so I will assume you are not covering anything up and blame this one on blizzard allowing pre-grouping and society for producing special babys who don’t think interaction is a good thing.

But in reality I don’t believe a word of this.
Hey ho, what a conundrum my yin and yang have, good luck chaps.

Oh and for all you omg , only talk tactics in mythic omg … he clearly stated normal, not mythic.

I’m not sure if you are trolling. How am I supposed to remember everything I’ve said, when it wasn’t anything meaningful? Do you remember what you’ve said today all up to this point from 10 hours ago? We just talked about classic, but we didn’t quite have much time as we rolled through the dungeon.

We had a small gap in the middle, when we noticed healer didn’t join the dungeon (was in some outside zone). During the gap we talked about dungeon design a bit, but it took 1 or 2 minutes for us to get going again as we got a new healer.

I’m also quite a skeptic myself, so I get where you are coming from. I do have one screenshot of the part where the other party member said I was about to be kicked, but that’s just a fraction of the entire duration of the dungeon. I don’t think anyone really cares for such.

I’m not one for making stories though, believe what you believe.

Never seen this happen myself. But considering people seem to hate talking in dungeons I wouldn’t rule it out either…

Most people who play WoW in fact dont want to go outside and meet or/and talk to others. So its logical that they would find you annoying

Maybe you were just that one person making everybody else uncomfortable but really not seeing it at all? who knows!

I dont talk much in dungeons because Im a really slow typer and the conversation has already moved on by the time Ive finished my thought! I do have quite a few emotes and macros though so I can be sociable but not slow everybody down.
I wouldnt kick someone for being chatty…even if I wasnt interested in the conversation. But then Im fairly easy going and if people wwant to do bonus bosses or get dungeon achievements I’ll happily go with the flow.

I was having a dialogue with one fellow paladin.

At least you guys can vent here, there is no “vote kick button” on the forums

I love all these strawman arguments that are “I WAS NEARLY KICKED FOR XYZ” yet never have any proof of any of this interaction attached.

This didn’t happen simply because you were talking.; perhaps it was what your discussion was about: politics? Yeah I’d probably vote kick that myself. Racism? Straight out.

Maybe discuss things more appropriate.

I doubt most of the population has some video tape recording all their actions. I do have a screenshot of when I was told that there was a votekick initiated.

Edit: yeah idk how to use the new forums.

I have seen this behavior in warfronts, dungeons, battlegrounds, and raids. In a warfront, one player was simply trying to make the time go by and was talking in general. Several players jumped on him and told him to go to whisper or to just shut up. This player was surprised some reacted that way and then the vote kick started against this player. I voted declined.

Eventually it did pass but an example of how bad the community has gotten. In the dungeons and raids I have seen vote kicks for people who are asking innocent questions about how a raid is supposed to go or tactics for a dungeon. In both instances, the leader initiated a vote kick against the player who inquired about tactics, saying that the person should brush up on tactics on youtube or wowhead.

I think that people now see talking as a hindrance or a person as being bothersome. Even if the person has a valid excuse for talking (inquiring about tactics, techniques, or just asking general questions).

One should not feel anxiety of -POOF- out of a group for moronic reasons at any moment, it’s a sh’itty experience.
