I wanna try out Draenei Monk RP, but I feel like I need a little help with the backstory I found some Draenei Monk in TBC, but maybe they’re different?
Monks in the sense of the Monk class were trained by a pandaren that showed up at the Exodar’s crash site (and if you seek inspiration as to how that ended up, look no further than Mestrah from Battle of Dazar’alor). As for TBC, I recall something about ghosts but those were more monks in the traditional sense as caretakers of holy sites, rather than punchy kicky combat men and women.

For something more draenei-fisticuffs specific there is a sport that was practiced when they still lived on Argus, called Jed’hin.

Kicky staff weilders, yeah, they’re monks. Surviving, sane auchenai would probably want to talk to pandaren about these skillsets.

Oh hey, here I only remembered them summoning ghosties and not doing much else.
Neat.
Still, unfortunately, there is very little to it.
I could also see how becoming a monk would work well with many other classes, away from the Auchenai monks. Any Draenei who was in Pandaria after the Alliance offensive and curious about the Pandaren way of life, young Draenei on a “gap year”, or a jed’hin fighter looking to branch out their skills.
They were, Auchenai monks are more similar to the OG scarlet ones. Originally wielders of light with staff & fists, some now darkfallen to fight with shadows instead. So not much related to pandaren monks BUT still a really nice opportunity to RP with some shadowy / holy toys/trinkets.
Monks pffft… Hunter you can do cool rambo moves…although meditation is rather cool and fits into the shamanastic vibes in exodaqr area
