I’m curious too. Playing on and off since classic, I have never had more than 100k gold on my account. Usually I hover around 10k struggling to pay my repair costs
I assume most people will have a lot more

Get real. A targeted hack for gold?
I think people capable of that could hack something worthwhile. Hell, stacking shelves at a grocery store would net you more money per hour.
Im all for being paranoid but draw the line at tinfoil hats.
OT, err, bit more than 5 mill, i accumulate.
Just wanted to start a random conversation and people almost accuse me of things. SMH
But I had some convos with friends, and seems like a lot of players couldn’t afford a WoW token via gold these days. Which is a little surprising to me. Frankly I thought people sleep on gold XD
I guess lack of mission table and emergence of bots that drives the prices on regional AH to minimum, it’s hard to make gold the old ways.
And some stuff is really expensive.

I’m poor atm. I have around 400k on my main.
Poor?
I have 40k spread across 7 characters on the same realm.
Well, you mainly PvP, right?
So that makes a bit of sense.
I don’t think it does.
Thanks to this achievement:
https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=18027/dragonflight-season-2-master we know that KSM = Challenger II (1600 CR).
So, a 1600 CR player should be earning as much gold as a KSM player.
I play at 2100 MMR on three different monks and I’m still broke all the time.
I have no idea what you’re talking about mate.
I thought it was quite common for PvPers to not have a lot of gold. That’s all.
You must remember that I am predominantly a world content player who does not get involved with any kind of ranking, min-maxing, meta or any such nonsense. So I have no clue what those terms are. Please, don’t explain either though. I’m wearing it as a badge of honour, that I don’t know.
Yes, it is.
Because we get 0 rewards from PvP.
This is a problem.
I play around 20 hours per week and I’ve made 1.3 million Gold in like 40 days I guess.
Bought 3 WoW tokens and made 100k for next patch enchants etc…
Not really. You don’t need it.
Hi, Average Andy here.
I’m currently sat on about 25.4 million.
I just took an interest in making gold when I first returned to the game. Originally I just wanted to be able to pay my own way and not have to buy WoW Tokens, since the game is designed to encourage it.
I’m no less average than any other player, I just enjoy Professions and Gold making.
Lol. No.
That’s not average. At all.
I got a few mill gold, but those are basically remaining funds from Legion.
Currently, you go lose gold till a BoE drops in the raid, then you are back to small positive. So I presume most players hang around a few hundred thousand gold on average.
If you engage in more content, like open world and questing, you will have a lot more gold. If you do professions or boosting, you will have a ton more gold. The less you do that content, the dryer your purse. So, average player, probably less than a million, more than 100k.
I’m an average player.
We call people like you goblins actually
I wish I was more frugal.
Whenever I have lots of gold, I just want to spend spend spend.
I made millions back then too.
I made about 2-3 million at the start of DF. But… Most of it was gone fast.
Do you get repair bills?
I do.
I enjoy fashion a lot, I make plenty of great transmogs all the time.
I also need gems and enchants for my gear.
