Okay I just finished shadow mourn quest got my legendary weapon, and had to kill lich king one more time, but im timelocked.
Now I finally got my first heroic Nzoth kill on tuesday. Whole boss fight was boring af spamming if we are honest, not sure how much time has passed since same phases keep repeating. After killing the octopus alien boss some RP with shooting some laser cannon and getting teleported to chamber, or was it just a dream?
Anyway, now today I went to kill lich ling again. And HOLY moly, all the RP is so much better. You are joining the fight as the whole allied forces. The tower is defended by ships that you destroy, entrance guards. It actually feels like a fortress you have to invade and not some random dungeon with 5 creep pull here and another 5 creeps here and 2 mega creeps here…and when you finally get to Lich King and and almost destroy him he kills you but you get saved by paladin that has to fill his place holy shjt. RP is real.
Not only that, but when I go get my quest rewards for last part of legendary quest I get VERY COOL stuff:
-jainas locket: toy that creates portal for group to dalaran,
-sylvanas music box: plays actually whole high quality production mp3 song - lament of the high born
-tabard of light bringer: make your tabard shine bright
-muradins favor: toy, look like a frost dwarf
-Crimson Deathcharger mount.
I felt like 100x more that I actually accomplished something for the allied azeroth forces compared to getting heart artifact, legendary cape, killing nzoth combined (and saving azeroth).
also grinding coalesing visions to grind mementos to grind socket slot must be the most boring lamest stuff ever.
Honestly Im probably bored of these octopus alien bosses too.
You are quite fast. It takes me probably 30min to even find 3 rares for a single quest in my realm for one quest, not to mention doing it on other alts, then I have to go to vision to get mementos.
Skip those quests then. The daily quest reward very few currency, they’re mostly there for the rep. Doing the assaults + small visions nets much more, and you do not need to do any dailies for them. You can, of course, do some of the fast and easy ones while doing the assaults, but you can totally skip the bad ones like rares & chests.
I’ve been doing that on my alt, takes about an hour weekly for the assaults (major + 2 minor, combined), and about 10 minutes daily for the daily vision, travel and quest included. For an alt, who usually doesn’t need top notch gear, you can even skip the daily visions, and just do one a week, drastically reducing the time you spend on grinding currency. You’ll still have enough coalescing visions to do 3 horrific visions.
The rewards for LK legendary are much greater because it was at the time much harder than this “legendary” cloak. LK was a guildbreaker, people spent weeks and months trying to get him down just one single time on normal and the Kingslayer title was prestige.
Some of this can be explained by the playerbase having much more skills, more experience, better hardware, more addons, pruning… But I think we all can agree there is inflation in gear, we’re showered with epics every day and a legendary is like epics used to be.
I quite like the storyline about the old gods, there’s much more to it than the Nya’lotha raid and it’s connected to Arthas as well. Not a lore nerd so I’m not going in to details. The quality of the end cinematic was so low, I doubt it’s the full story. Hopefully they haven’t scrapped something important for financial reasons, like they did in WoD for example.
