I am just wondering why they go deep into prot but don’t pick up kings ? is there any point that can be dropped anywhere to get kings ? 10% stats seems like it would be pretty good or am I missing something ?

Well the problem is that prot paladin is a meme spec and the only way to make it work in raids is to constantly be casting greater blessing of (insert what ever blessing) on the most people possible.
They can dungeon tank though but if anyone pulls threat it can not be picked up again instantly and could cause you to wipe.
And also as the literal guide you are referring to says
" This is the default build that you will take as a Protection [Paladin]. Unlike other builds in WoW Classic, Protection has no room for personal preference or change at all. This build maximizes survivability and threat generation with every point, and there are no other possible options that would be a gain to take."
well if you didn’t plan to raid or even dungeon tank and just wanted to play it to be “tanky” in hard mode, there is still no wiggle room ? can’t maybe drop 1 point in parry or hit to pickup kings ?
If its for open world you most likley can drop a point in something but no clue what would be best
I was thinking maybe if its human paladin they candrop points in hit because of sword spec racial? I am not sure how that works tbh
edit:yeah I was looking it up, I think its probably “ok” for a human paladin to drop 1 point in hit to pickup kings if they are using swords or maces
edit edit:I forgot sanctuary was a blessing, I guess its pointless taking kings afterall, since deeper into the talents you wont ever be using it solo
If you want to play solo you can do whatever you like. I play meme - mosly Prot - pally in HC, high survivability, but slow. I like it, but not for everyone. And I get BoK as soon as I can.
pretty much why I want to play prot, I died on a squish character and prot is slow but has heals and tanky so I want to give it a go
as far as kings go, what about blessing of sanctuary ? reduces damage taken and gives anotehr source of thorns ? prot wants to be stackign as much thorn as possible so things die from attacking you ? (or at least thats the memedream)
I don’t do the Passive damage thing. It provokes guards and if you have to run, it make mob follow for longer.
As said I do my own “meme” from playing IronMan for years.
maybe 10% agility, str and stamina makes up for the marginal damage reduction, I am not good at the math behind theory crafting, I also wonder how it stacks with the zg buff, anyone know is it multiplicative vs additive?
No idea - I am not much for theorycrafting either. It seens never fit levelling, only Dungeon/raids.
Let me stop you right there and tell you that prot paladin is the literal worst class/spec in the whole game. Yes, actually more useless than boomkin. But sure, go ahead and go for it, people need to laugh at someone to make their day better, why not have them laughing at you? 
What is fun is never worst I find Rogue - any spec - ultimate worst!
Well yeah, but you are a person who recommends people drink stoneshield potion as a way to mitigate fall damage, so your input, while apreciated, is actually detrimental to any productive discussion, since you have no idea what you are talking about. Have a great day
I never recommend Stoneshield potion - you cannot read - is Dwarven Racial Stoneform which I used and told of

Again. armor has no contribution to the amount of damage you receive while falling.

For 5 mans you dont need Kings. BoM for Melee, BoW for casters and BoS for yourself. Salvation if needed.
