Hi everyone,
As someone who is trying to push “higher” keys, I spend most of my game time in the dreaded queue simulator, applying for groups, which is something a lot of people are facing I believe (that is a separate issue which I will not discuss).
But since that is the case, I figured at least my queuing experience should be good, and currently, it’s terrible.
Some examples first:
Yesterday I was looking for 24 SBG or COS key and 22 AA key.
The only way I can get all those groups to show on the same page is by typing 23 in the filter, so I get all dungeons with levels 22-24 show up and the scroll and try to spot the ones I need.
99% of the groups showing were the ones I am not interested in, so I just have to scroll and refresh over and over again, which really starts to strain the eyes at some point and is annoying.
Considering I spend a lot of time afk in Valdrakken doing this, I wanted to mix it up and at least pick up some herbs while queuing. It is super hard to look at the minimap, fly the drake, and look at the group listings cluttered with stuff I don’t need at the same time, because I always have to check which dungeon it is (which is written in small letters at the bottom of group listing).
So after months of doing this, I finally started to wonder, why don’t we have better filters?
Other way for me to filter would be typing a specific dungeon, like SBG and 24, but that way I could only browse one dungeon at a time.
Imagine a world where you could check the checkbox for dungeons you are interested in, combined with the key level.
And when you choose a key level, let’s say 23, it only shows 23, NOT 22 and 24, because if I wanted those I would have searched for them.
That way, every group you see would be EXACTLY what you want to play, and you wouldn’t need to make a decision or check multiple things before you hit apply - you just do it.
And being a software engineer (not a flex even though I see people making fun of me already), I know how trivial this is to implement, and would take an intern a day to do. The logic already exists, pretty much all you need to do is make a simple interface with 8 checkboxes and key level dropdown field (or from - to range field) for each.
So I just thought this would be enormous QoL improvement, that would actually help my eyes, as well as make it easier to me to fill the time while queuing, by doing something else, like herbing.
I am curious why no one complained about this already, but I guess it is not that huge of an issue at the first glance and then we get used to it, but jt can be much much better and more comfortable.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
Edit: fixed about 20 typos
