[Idea] Mailbox upgrade (to work with Warbands)

Past week i logged in after not playing for a month or so. I found out the hard way that all my mail was gone. Bummer. That led to me thinking that the mailbox system can be improved with the coming of Warbands in The War Within and save mails from expiring a bit better.

What if the following was added so it could work Warbands:

  • New Mailbox UI
    To start a new user interface would be needed and is a lot better/nicer. Maybe the layout can be wider, a bit more like an email inbox with a list of mails on the left and mail content or mail composing on the right.
  • New feature: Warband Mailbox
    In the new UI there will be a new feature called Warband Mailbox. This is a mailbox shared by your whole Warband. Because Warband is an important new feature the expiration time of a mail in the Warband Mail is 90 days instead of the regular 30 days.
    Collecting items/gold from a mail in your Warband Mailbox has two options:
    • Put in your bags
    • Send to Shared Warband Bank
  • New option: Send to recipient’s Warband Mailbox
    Selecting this send the mail to Warband of the recipient. You can send to your own Warband Mailbox as well.
  • New option: Forward Mail to Warband Mail
    This option will send any received mail to your Warband Mailbox. You can choose 3 options to do so (or not):
    • Forward received mails immediately. It will skip your normal mailbox.
    • Forward unopened mails after 30 days.
    • Don’t forward mails.
      There can be an extra option in this where you can choose to exclude any mails without an item or gold attached.

I would say the best improvement mail can have in warband is… to get rid of the bigger reason why players use the mail: send material to use alts professions.

I believe professions should be included in some way in the warband. I am not saying making all professions warbands so effectively every character could have every profession. I am just saying some improvements so a player could access his other character’s professions recipes without requiring to send mails and switching characters.

Maybe like the craft order system where you send an craft order through your warband to an alt character.

Yeah, but making the craft order auto complete as soon as you made it without requiring to switch character to your alt.

I like the idea.

Regarding the mail upgrade. I was talking how Warband could improve the mail system. I mean it’s a bit circuitous if someone send it a mail to alt 1 while you’re playing on your main. It would be very nice if you could open the mail on your main as well. So a Warband inbox or maybe a shared inbox across your Warband would be a nice thing to have.

And i think returned auctions, won auctions, gold from sold auctions shouldn’t be in the mailbox at all. I always found that a stupid way.
