Idea to discuss: more character item slots

This was mentioned randomly sometimes, but never really discussed.

What if we got more item slots? Below are some random examples of the top of my head.

Instead of 2 ring slots, we have 4 or 6.
Instead of 2 trinket slots, we have 4.
Since we can transmog shoulders from two different sources, maybe use two shoulder items and select what secondary stats to equip. For example, 2x versatility stats instead of 1x haste and 1x versatility.

Restore the class based relics we had, perhaps? But made in some way to be actually interesting, not just increase the damage of an ability by X amount. And be for every class this time around. Rogues - toolkit, Paladins - tome, Monk - a dragon ball (kidding here ofc) etc.

What do you think? Would this bloat the itemization or add more nuance to it?

I think there is scope for more items although rather than rings which don’t show (although perhaps that could be made a thing but even so more than 2 would be cluttered) I would suggest.

Scabbard (could be simple leather or jewel encrusted) which would have back or hip options.
Quivers.
Neck pieces that acutally show, so either bejeweled necklace or armoured gorget.
Broach that holds your cloak in place.
Ear-rings.
