Hi, I noticed that the new areas and also the battlegrounds use the new textures, but I’m wondering why blizzard haven’t decided to replace the old textures with the new ones, wouldn’t it be possible to replace the grass textures with the new ones? If blizz just updated the grass in old areas it would look a lot better and I imagine shouldn’t require much work… They could do this for other textures, but grass is the main one I’m thinking of

Totally agree that it would make a much nicer game. Updated textures on the low-res armor (transmog) and buildings would be fantastic. So much potential wasted in low-res transmogs.

I don’t get it, aren’t “low texture” quality stuff generally just downscaled? Can’t they just use the ‘original’ graphic of said textures for HD?
Grass is actually a horrifying resource hog. I’d rather they replace old buildings with new ones, like the inn from the garrisons since it’s a change in environmental quality that you’d really notice.
The game is fine as it looks now. Past zones are past zones they dont need upgrading
Kind of what they did in Lord of the rings online?
Where they added much more shrubbery (Ni!) and clutter making the forests feel more real etc.
They didn’t even add much of the new textures but it does actually look pretty good even with the dated graphics. If something like that would happen in WoW. Elwynn forest could actually become a real forest.
I’d much prefer the devs focus on the next expansion and make sure it’s fit for release rather than tweaking old areas for whatever reason.
I don’t think anyone wants a half baked expansion release like we had with BfA.
My friend, Roger approved of that graphics addition.
Some of those graphic changes in LotRO where done by devs on their own initiative and in there own time. Can’t see that happening at Blizzard.

Makes me appreciate lotro even more now in that regard.
As you can imagine with an IP like LotR, there’s one helluva lot more emotional attachment and respect for the lore from both the Devs and the playerbase which knocks on to all other aspects of the game.

Totally wish for a revamp of the old zones. Blizzard please give us the new and fresh look from the newer expansions in zones like the Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor!
