Idle thought: Horde probably wouldn't like this one

…but it amuses me greatly, so I’ll post it anyway.

So, the scenario:
The war is in full swing, although Azshara destroyed most of the kul tiran fleet like any good plot device would, if it sees one side in an unwinnable war is winning. Cruelties on both sides go on, and it is hard to see, how this wouldn’t become an annihilation war, when suddenly…

…Anduin opens negociations again, this time not to sue for peace, but to have the Alliance join the Horde. All war crimes that they want to pursue are to be tried as the Warchief sees fit, the Horde is to be allowed wherever they want to go, giving the Alliance no room to hide any military moves from them, and the Alliance would accept Horde laws, if they get the rights of any other Horde member state in return.

It instantly smells fishy to Sylvanas. What’s the angle here? But she faces growing internal pressure within her faction to accept the offer, since Anduin made sure to make it as public as possible. The strongest argument for war with the Alliance was that the Alliance would some day choose to strike against the Horde, but with the Horde controlling the military, how could they? And peace on the Horde’s terms sounds like the best possible outcome for anyone on team red who doesn’t just want to watch the world burn.

So, the deal is made, Stormwind flies the Horde banner… and Malfurion challenges and defeats the Warchief in mak’gora.

Now, this would never, ever happen, and I’m sure my friends with the red avatar background will point out all the flaws in this scenario, but the idea made me smile for a few minutes, so I wanted to share it!

Let me stop you right at the first plothole:

although Azshara destroyed most of the kul tiran fleet like any good plot device would

With what? Each ship of the Kul Tiran Fleet is protected by the very mystical magic of the tides. Against the legendary might of the Kul Tiran Fleet, there can be no victory.

Don’t want to come in as a party crasher, but I doubt the Horde players are the ones that would react badly to this…

Edit: Damn, one post late.

Edit 2: And regarding this scenario, if the Alliance decided to have the Horde control the military, it would probably mean that certain Horde factions such as Forsaken, Goblin, or even elves, would abuse said position to mistreat the Alliance citizens.

BLOOD AND HONOR! FOR WIMBERT’S HORDE!

seeing that many tide-guys switched to Azsharas side they propably know the magic’s weaknesses. Nobody really knows what kind of magic so use, so it’s even possible that the Tidemagic is old-god magic in disguise…

… You know, I’m mostly okay with that if we remplace Malfurion (ew) by like… Tyrande. Yeah, Tyrande. Or the gnome leader, he seems like a reasonable guy. I’d say Moira but I think she’s busy with all the dwarven clans.

This is a lore confirmation of Wimbert caring for his people. We even have a source.

Now this sounds like a plan too clever to be cooked up by the story team :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’d dig it

A perfect scenario.

The only person to oppose this would be Sylvanas because she knows she would get wrecked in a duel with Malfurion again xD

By the way, FOR THE HORDE!

That’d be a really cheap way to end all this. I can see something like that being done by Blizzard but dear god why.

Because we both live and die for the Horde, sister!

There can be no Horde/Alliance war if we’re all Horde.
