If I'm going to play next expansion I don't want to see

More borrowed power shared between specs or even worse classes. This is basically ruining SL experience for a lot of people why are there class changes from BFA and for example nerfs to Mages mobility and survivability if it’s going to be increased even more with covenant. One covenant might make a spec viable while making other stacked with certain type of abilities. For example Necro Feral in arena is disgusting in terms of survivability. It has Barkskin, Survival Instincts, Frenzied Regeneration, auto Frenzied Regeneration, Bear Form, Crazy insant self healing and on top of that Fleshcraft. There is no go that you make on Feral that he doesn’t have any CD and this is without including any partners CDs.

What I’d love to see is bigger focus on class/spec design. This is one of the reasons why Legion felt way more balanced because artifact was dedicated to spec and not class. If something was broken you nerfed it and then just this spec was nerfed. Nowadays it’s hard to nerf 1 covenant because it means a nerf to other spec as well. In BFA people abused tank and healer traits on DPS specs and now they do the same with conduits.

I want Blizzard to review their Artifact, Traits and even Covenant designs and just apply certain things to specs to make them feel finished. Maybe 1-2 rows of talents. Maybe 1 more PvP talent to chose. Or going all in on design and adding PvE talents similar to PvP talents that only activate themselves with Warmode off and in Dungeons/Raids so people have more customization that Covenants do for them now. It can fix a lot of specs and make them feel better.

If Blizzard is worried that they might lack things to add in like they felt in MoP I don’t mind them reworking specs or classes where they delete one mechanic that feels outdated and replacing it with another but not pruning like we experienced in WoD and Legion. Such thing would not only make devs and designers life easier so they don’t have to balance literally everything every patch and allow them to focus on content that we lack in the game right now. Since Legion every patch theme is basically fixing existing system problems in the game. While we would like to see more content. In terms of content (maybe not class design and gameplay) Legion was a pinnacle of WoW design. We had class halls, class mounts, sets, unique transmogs, artifact appearences, solo challenge in form of Mage Tower. We need this more and less broken systems that are intefering into wide class balance that have to balanced 5-10 times a patch.

They need to review healer design imo. There’s too much upside to play some of them compared to others.

Other than that I think class design is fine overall. There’s something for everyone.

For me it’s borrowed power, I had no issues with the old badge systems, there was no RNG involved and no losing special abilities the following expansion.

There’s an old saying, don’t fix what’s not broken, Blizzard don’t seem to understand this and every expansion they try reinventing the wheel, only to end up with a triangle.

A typical example of poor design is havoc dh. Tragicomic rng defense, talents that should actually be baseline (demonic, netherwalk and rain from above), important abilities that have too big cd (meta and darkness). If we take away fae covenant then we literally get a semi-finished or rather unfinished spec.

And ofc havoc is not the only one who has this problem but is definitely among the worst.

Don’t care about the censorship, lore (I do, but it’s not a priority right now) o w/e. I want a game that feels good to play and not saturated with useless systems and unbalanced classes. People remember legion fondly, but it shared many of the problems shadowlands currently has. What was different was that in legion they actually tried to do their job and actively made changes, now they’re focused on removing peepee jokes
