I have so many times wanted to race change, but always been discouraged by the price… how is a Race Change more expensive than the base game. Surely there is just an AI doing it and the actual work behind it cant be worth that much $$$$

You can always wait for a discount event, they pop up around seasonal themes and stuff.

I think they do 25% to 50% discounts and if you grab bundles the discount is even better then.

For me it’s usually 17.50 euros with sales.
What OP says is 100% true .
They could at least lower it to the price of a WoW token so you can purchase it with gold . (By selling gold for WoW Token)
Or even better make it purchasable with gold and people will just buy more gold off the shop , like they did for Guild name change .

Personally I don’t think that making it cheaper would be a good thing for the game. There’s already too much FOTM switching. Unless they would remove racials, which I doubt.
i agree with noremorse. It would be very bad for the game. But i dare to say that at the same time OP is right.
I just hope blizz never take the idea.
people are gonna level up a new character anyway if they want to be another race. especialyl now that u level from 1 to max in a day or two

That’s true, but it still takes a bit of effort. I might be wrong, but I do think it’s priced the way it is, to also deter people from switching races too often.

maybe with remix. in the normal way in tw time you can level from 70 to 80 in 3 hours. but is somethin painful. With a 5 euro token to change class i would go with changing class.
What’s annoying for me right now is that 1 WoW token can not cover the cost , so you need to sell gold for 2 . But when you do you exceed the cost of the race change , so you have leftover balance , which you don’t need .
So I simply don’t do it at all .
Just get a bundle for future use when its on sale, its not like they can take it away because you did not use it, heck i pre ordered midnight and it got me a boost but i already have all classes max level so guess i just save it up.
honestly…with the experience boosts we have and the speed at which you level in this game, I don’t even consider purchasing a race-change…
I just delete the toon and recreate it as the race I want.
Faction Change and Race change should be cheaper cheaper cheaper!! we can buy it more more more.
You can convert tokens to Battle Net Balance and buy it with that, right?
So by all accounts you can pay with gold.
Now; that doesn’t mean that it’s not overpriced though.
