A lot of people think that if something 100-0 someone then it’s broken. Not really.
It depends on:
-is it possible to stop?
-is it easy to do?
-how reliable it is?
It’s not really reliable because it requires you to use all your CDs to do it. You can do it only during Dark Soul and Warlock popping Dark Soul should already be a red light to you. It also requires other CDs like Soul Rot which is 1 min. CD.
It is easily counterable by any healer or spec that can dispel magic/curse. If you dipsel Agony before he does it then you already remove huge chunk of it’s damage. Not to mention dispel from R Shaman or R Druid that remvoes both curses and magic effects. The only downside is that dispelling UA during Dark Soul may cost that healer 20-30 k hp.
Is it easy to use? Nah. It requires Warlock to hard cast 3 things to perform this one shot. If you leave Warlock free casting and you don’t notice Dark Soul it’s your fault. All you need to do is to track your dots and Dark Soul and then you are absolutelty fine. At the same time people die to WW Monks out of the blue. There is a clip from few weeks ago already after nerfs where Lontar - one of the best healers EU dies to Cutiepie without even Bonedust Brew being used. Just due to few procs.
BM Hunter makes denies Unholy DK and Affliction Warlock mechanics with 1 legendary.
How is Deathbolt the biggest problem in the game at the moment. Just to clarify I don’t like Deathbolt and I’d like Affliction to just have proper dot pressure it deserves and always had. Imo instead of creating some one shot gimmicks for every spec they should focus on making all possible playstyles viable. Setup comps like RMP and some caster cleaves, Meelecleaves and defensive dampen comps. Right now we have a pathology of Jungle being probably the best dampen comp. If there is a spec that defines dampening it should be Affliction Warlock and then most dampen comps should be build around him like most setup comps are based on Rogues.
