only use max rank pots/flasks. (we can make them ourself. People go farming for fun)
Everyone has to atleast have read the boss strategy (saves time at the raid. We dont want to retell everything and waste our limited raiding time)
Everyone can play which spec he wants
bench underperforming players after 2 warnings (you can only get 1 warning per raid evening) and have to perform on the 3rd raid evening after the warnings (so you are minimum 3 times in the raid)
Have a really strict set of rules on who can speak on coms and when during the try. Before and after we can joke and propose ideas
80% of the guild are working people with family, so rules need to be in place to protect everyones limited time.
&its just the First boss where Tactics matters, you cannot ignore mechanics in that fight, thats all its not hard once you know to tackle those mechanics.
Firstly I don’t disagree with the rest of your post… I have quoted this bit to try and give some perspective.
Friends - I have none, not one IRL (I’m i my 40s) I’ve never had friends and think I am incapable in making them… There are a lot of people like me so don’t assume people have friends in game or IRL
Guilds - There is one major problem with guilds and raiding for me… My life is not fixed, some weeks I can raid any day, others just a Thursday, the next a Sunday , some not at all. A fixed raiding schedule is just not possible for me (and others.)
The solution to this for me in Dragon Flight has been to join communities with sigh ups - I can pick which ones I can attend and sign up accordingly (they are not all good, I don’t always get an invite but my experiences so far have been very good. )
As for the vault I think it is a decent raid, the first I have enjoyed since CN. For difficulty it is ok for me 6/8N now and feels a lot less problematic than Shadowlands raids which were very difficult to access as a pugger,
The group I was in progressed to 7/8N last night with only 1 or 2 wipes on a couple of bosses (I didn’t get boss 7 as had to go.)
That’s a good question. To me that seems the most common set up for guilds that are looking to get AOTC and CE every season. So if it’s that common, it can’t be the 1% ultra elite can’t it?
Absolutely, we’ve got got pretty similar rules too, we obviously want coms to be clear for raid lead and assists during pulls, but otherwise very chill, and people joke and have banter. We want people to be on time and prepared. Like simple rules of respect towards others.
You know if you were to meet your friends to play a sport or go for a walk, you wouldn’t want them to turn up 30 minutes late and drunk right? Is that simple really.
We don’t check if people use rank 2 or rank 3 potions, we leave it on people’s personal finances. Not everyone who likes to raid has long boy mount and gamifies the AH!
If it’s of any consolation, I don’t know anyone from my guild IRL.
It sounds like even with your challenges in mind, you’re making it work. Your guild must be a decent set of people to be around with. My life isn’t fixed neither, and sometimes I miss raids, that’s just normal for the majority of people out there. That’s why I opted for a guild that’s flexible and understanding. Look for what’s important to you, and what would work for you, there’s bound to be a guild out there that shares these values.
I think OP was complaining more about people who complain about things being difficult even though it’s inheritably their fault and summed it up quite simply with this quote:
tbh LFR is harder than heroic. Reason is most people are afk. Did 2nd wing with 2 healers, the rest was afk. Guess who won the tier rolls? Sometimes I hate this game.
What is this? Nobody here values their time, just look at this place. We might all be clowns in a circus but at least we know what we are. You seem not to.
If I were to choose for the company, I’d choose what most of the players want, while trying to accommodate everyone as a secondary job. If the game’s purpose is to entertain and make money, there’s no point to make content for niches as the main objective (unless they generate a lot of revenue).
If people ask for an easier patch, then sure why not. The next time if they ask for a harder patch, well sure why not. If I see most people like to collect transmogs, I will add more transmogs until they get bored and the focus shifts on something else.
Let’s make up numbers for how many people play WoW. I say more than 100.
There’s lower difficulties for people who just want the story, or for groups of weekend gamers who want to experience the raid together.
How about, if you don’t enjoy the higher difficulties, then instead of trying to cancel them… just don’t do them?
You would know if you keept reading instead of dropping this comment after the first two lines. Btw i’m also implieng that it was easy on release as well.
I agree there. I think this raid is balanced well on normal mode so that it offers a challenge for casual players while not being too easy or too hard. The problem really lies in the players and people aren’t as good as they think. The bosses allow for a lot of misplay, just not too much of it.
20 years ago maybe, games evolve, so the players, too many games are around nowadays, and too busy life to spend months on a stupid raid. Games today must be fun and easy to get through, we have hundreds of games each year to choose from, so if you are creating elitist content probably you won’t have much of a player base, means, not much money for the shareholders, so there is that. Or you think the games nowadays are created for something else but money?
