And in this case even if they would die, they would just use their soul stone to ressurect
For me it is around 40/40/20 as I sadly rarely get the chance to play and main healer. I will most likely do so next expansion to finish off my own personal goal of maining every role atleast once.
Final update or so help me god im going to seek professional help.
Im a monk.
Have you tried guardian druid?
Hi. Iām a BM hunter.
Iāve been one for 19 years - with a short 4 month gap where I mained a Paladin in TBC. I have no clue what I was thinking.
I really enjoyed MW monk in Legion. It was the alt I spend the most time on.
I didnāt like what they did with the spec after Legion though. I do still really like the brewmaster fantasy/theme/aesthetic, I just donāt want to tank.
I am not limiting myself. I am a resto shaman, holy paladin, brewmaster, frost DK. And when i got the time i probably explore some other classes too
Itās like youāre looking for the One, Moritz. You donāt need to be monogamous in game!
Either way, hope youāre having fun
Druid has a lot of cool stuff and i am jealous of them in many ways.
However thematically i dont jell with it, i cant play as a race i would stick with, and i really hate shape-shifting. I like to see my character clearly.
So while they can make a fun alt, i dont think i could play one long term.
Monks as a whole are pretty awesome imo
Shooting sith lightening, flying around on a cloud, summoning celestials, drinking beer and throwing kegs, kicking dragons in the face, making clones of yourself, and zooming all over the place. Its awesome.
Now this is the type of relationship with a class that i want!
Colour me jealous.
I am indeed!
I used to have a class that i loved. Played it for like the first 5 years after joining wow.
But when i wanted to stop being a healer and play dps⦠oops, dont like the dps spec.
Since then ive just been floating between ideas of what to do.
Having everything on one character is important to me for some irrational reason. So i really need to just pick something or else ill be doing the netherwing and ogrilla reps on repeat, and who wants to do that more than once! Haha
Outside of stressing myself over my choices, i am having lots of fun!
Monk is really fun and covers everything i want in a class. Time for me to just get on with it and start playing the game properly again!
Man I do feel you.
I basically change class every day, canāt really stick to just one - but itās something that drives me crazy every now and then. Although I like them all, I would love to have only one character where to store my all my progresses. Instead I have them all spread out on many different toons!
I pray that one day we get account wide reps for those at exalted.
Then it would just be questlines and gearing back up to do.
Half the stress of it gone in a flash.
Because of the tier set next season? Then take a break for one season and come back after the season is over.
What are you looking for in a class?
I also have the same problem not able to find a favourite one.
What do I want from a class:
Good survivability - I donāt want to die very often.
Good weapons - I think the most iconic weapons in game are swords and axes so I want my class to be able to equip those at least one-handed
So hunter can equip axes and swords but itās squishy when hit so I demoted it to the alts.
Paladin can equip axes and swords and has very good survivability but elves cannot be paladins yet so again demoted to alts.
The demon hunter can equip swords, warglaives are cool, has wings and survivability is good but doesnāt have anything to collect before Legion so it will be my main for current content.
The warrior can use any weapon, has good survivability so it will be my character for old content (currently locked at level 19)
And now I just need 1 alt for healing.
Surely if you keep switching between the two classes (I know the feeling) you would want to play a class that can do both ranged and melee so Druid or Hunter would be a better fit. At least this way you only have to change the spec and gear rather than deleting and restoring characters to keep your name.
It wasnt about the tier set as such.
More about how when you have only the one spec you want to play for the majority of the time there is no back up on the class for when it goes wrong.
So when you play a class for one spec that you enjoy 100% of over a class with 3 specs you enjoy 70% of, you have more fun, but youre also gambling.
Basically, putting all your eggs in one basket.
But monk really is the only class that fits what i want out of the game.
Outside of just having fun what i want isā¦
A character whos class feels like they belong in the world. So its not weird when theyre asked to go rescue someones cat or whatever. I dont see a demon hunter or death Knight being particularly welcomed anywhere. Let alone asked to do trivial chores.
The ability to heal others. Partly for doing old content bosses that need healing up like in icc but also because i like being helpful in general to people i come across. If i see someone low on health, i top them up.
Leading on from that, the ability to help other people. The other day i saw some people trying to take on an elite and running away as it was too hard for them. So i swapped to brewmaster and tanked it for them.
Finally a class lore that isnt deeply routed in beliefs. Such as being devoted to the light or nature.
Id much rather something like a hunter or monk where you have freedom to build your own characters story.
Oh, and no visual effects on the character like druid forms, shadow form, shaman with their annoying spheres orbiting them.
I did give hunter a shot as its lore does work for me and collecting pets is really cool.
Id love to run around with foxes.
But the classes gameplay bores me to tear. Not tried survival admittedly.
And with druid im not a fan of their lore, and i hate shape-shifting. But feral is very fun.
Druid as a class without the theme, or shape-shifting, would be the ideal class.
But i just cant get over those issues.
But this time im set on monk⦠please god let it stick haha
So if I understood correctly you want to be able to heal and donāt want to be devoted to light, donāt want shapeshifting, shadow form or orbs then you are left with only 2 options - evoker or monk. You said melee is more fun then the only option is monk. And your favorite spec wonāt be great at some point but thatās the nature of ever-changing game. When such time comes just continue playing it knowing that it will get better sooner or later.
Yeah its really the only option i have for what i want in a class.
The funny thing is, when i was moving on from my original character of a priest, i had ruled out monk from the start as i had always hated melee.
I thought no classes existed that did what i wanted.
It wasnt until 2 years later when i started levelling one as an alt, that i discovered it was actually absurdly fun.
Would have saved myself so much time and effort if i had given it a fair shot when i was actually in the market for a new class haha
This isnāt the sound of someone who is settled, I hope you do get there eventually though.
Mainly thats because im a bit of a completionist so my main needs all the reps, and quests, and everything done on them.
On my warlock i had cleared several old expansions, grinded out some super annoying rep.
And really i just cba to do it all over again haha
Just going to have to throw myself in at the deep end with this one and ride the pain points out.
Im sure once my monk has something that no other chatacter has done on it, it will be easier to settle.
You know, I had the same problem, choosing a class, my main, but you know I just chose one, I listed all the classes I may play, gave it to a random generator, and let it give me one. (or just choose want you crack with and stay on it for any new content)
Now with this character, I will do all quests/rep/crafting, pvp or other modes.
As for other classes, I might level up some, but I wonāt care about quests, maybe not even crafting, they are for pvp and maybe pve, but not progression, as for gear they made a lot of catch-up gear events, they even sacrificed fun for some gear, so you can have an alt in
any game mode, but may not do quests other than the ones needed for gear progression.
But you can still make another āmainā if that is your thing, welcome to alt-a-holism, where we might never truly gear up a character, but we had fun making them, the end.
Grind then again while you still like the monk, then youāll have a reason to stick to it when the time comes when you donāt like it as much.
I really wish Blizzard would adopt a more account wide approach like other games
