I am sick and tired of trying to ignore people who are rude & cruel to me with their messages - yet to find out ‘‘player not found’’. Yet they keep whispering mean messages… 
How can i fix this? this community can be so toxic

If you know their name and realm you should be able to add them manually to your ignore list.
If you want to add people to ignore on an account level you can use an addon like
Type “/ignore [shift+click name]”
Shift+Clicking a person’s name in chat adds it to your text box.
I get the impression they are not getting that option due to the ‘player not found’ message.
That happens when you don’t enter their realm in proper.
report language on chat usually ignores them for an hour or two and auto-reports them
I believe until you relog.

i have this issue as well. what works for me is try hovering with your mouse over their realm name and not their player name when you ignore them. this usually fixes it for me, however, sometimes a couple of tries are required.

I used to have this problem, particularly when trying to ignore from WIM. Repeating it several times used to eventually work. I use GI though now too and I’ve not run into this problem for a while.
What about those Unknown ppl on your ignorelist that can’t be removed

im not 100% sure but it might be that they ve changed name and something bugged out.
cant find anything on google either that doesnt involve addons.
