You do not need to ingore them thought just install badboy addon and add key words also you could leave the trade channel.

That and any boostbots posing in /2 and not /services should be immediately reported so tehy can be banned… They got their own channel for it specifically to stop the spam and make /2 useable again, so they damn well better use it.

I haven´t seen it happen myself, but I don´t deny that somebody somewhere probably thinks they´re smart by doing it, and it should be an instant and permanent ban with no exceptions… and if if continues to happen, the entire boosting community gets a 30 day timeout as a first and final warning. Let´s be honest here, most of them (Nova, Oblivion, Sylvanas, Skycoach,…) are x-realm anyway, as well as the advertisements coming from chars on accounts that never participate in the runs, both of which are also explicitly not allowed to begin with. Not to mention that some of them also offer RMT boosing and gold via dedicated websites.

I used to boost people for ingame gold many years ago, but todays boosting-coms are the scum of the earth and the bane of good games, they don´t care about the rules, only about the money.

If you gave it a fair read and understood what it said, you wouldnt try to frame me as someone abusing the system for a competitive edge.

On blizzards own website it says the following about the ignore function:

While ignored, the player cannot whisper you, send mails, initiate duels, or send group invitations. You will not see their messages in public chat channels, and you will not be placed in a group with them via the Dungeon Finder system.

If it is designed so that it makes you unable to be grouped with ignored players in random dungeons, I would say having the exact same functionality for m+ dungeons is not violating its intended purposes.

Just now I was in a dungeon with a person complaining about the other 2 dps in the group. First he asks if they’re being boosted, then he keeps going throughout the dungeon harassing them, calling out dps numbers and ilvl and whatnot. When they die, he spam pings their corpse, and also moans about dungeon not being timeable while it still was a chance it would be timed. He did not use a language that would lead to a ban, he likely didnt do anything reportable, he was simply an annoying person that I dont wish to play with again. You act like there’s no spectrum of behaviour. Either you’re good or you’re bad (ban-worthy). Sadly the world doesnt work like that.

And if adding some numbers to the ignore list is the end of the world for people on this forum, then I guess I’ll just have to use a good old notebook

Black book for black list, it is one way to do it or the book of grudges :dracthyr_a1:

Actually, the ping spamming in and of itself is reportable, this was added about 2 weeks after the ping system was introduced. The spamming is why many players such as myself have the system entirely deactivated. And the constant complaining about the other´s performance is arguably harassment… that´s not our job to judge, it´s what GMs exist for… you will not be sanctioned for reporting such actions, so feel free to do so when you see them.

But yes, report, ignore, complete the dungeon if possible, and never deal with their idiocy ever again. :beers:

Yeah I knew that would happen with pings.

But it’s just a to good tool to not use in my books.

Classic tw alone was a prove for that. I met more then enough who didn’t knew the old dungeons and pinging is faster and more clear then writing

I annoys the F out of our raidlead to still use markers (that said they´re still IMO the superior visual aid, but also completely redundant when everybody has cleared the place a dozen or more times), , but after pugging a few weeks over the holidays he entirely understands why half of us will never reactivate it :stuck_out_tongue:

That said, most of us also have the luxury of playing for 15+ years, so we already know at least the basics of what we´re doing no matter what ini you throw us in to, so we would more likely than not just ignore them anyway

I think groups should have a “only the leader” option for pings.
That would reduce the annoyance to a minimum
