Hi;
It has rained alot since we were enjoying MoP s1, where they released the first ranged weapon enchant (actualy a melee/whatever weapon enchant), the now so called Glorious Tyranny. Now, for those of you who can’t remember, it was an enchant that displayed that elitist red glow that some PvPers have in their weapons, with the difference that it was also appliable to (not all but most) ranged weapons. This includes Classic bows, crossbows, some rifles (such as the Karazhan one)…
Now, for some reason, at some point of the long journey from there to nowadays, hunters can’t apply illusions for their ranged weapons. To make you in context, let me explain you guys some not very known stuff:
In one hand, around Legion (or even WoD if I’m not mistaken) hunters did not have the possibility of apply illusions, so the feature was “over”, okay. In the other hand, in BfA there were few new weapon models. There was the Engineering Shotgun (can’t remember if it was for PvP though), and the new crossbow model.
Now, some dud (proably hunter) found that if he did equip whatever weapon in the transmogrifier, and equip the ranged weapon right before pressing “transmog”, the game would apply that illusion to the ranged weapon, but would only display the illusion in some weapon models, such as the ones mentioned above (new shotgun, new crossbow, KZ rifle, to say some).
Through the years, the game has been more around cosmetics (Item sets, animations for shoulders/chest, mounts, or ilusions).
Playing hunter nowadays feels not miserable but not rewarding in that sense. If I like some illusion and I know that certain model of weapon could display the glow that we like, wanting to show it off as it used to be in the good ol’ days but not being able (even though the game model is the same and compatable), it feels underwhelming to see it not possible.
So my question is:
What’s with it? Do hunters with glowy bows do not fit the class fantasy? Does it disturb someone as the old gun sound? Does it feel not relevant such as the old SV spec merged into MM?
It feels that hunters have received some misstreatment in that regard from Blizzard.
To conclude, I don’t want to sound rude or whatever, but I hope you guys understand the point even if you don’t play a hunter.
Another possible topic would be to be able to display a visual weapon in our back or himps through whatever glyph or feature, but we already have enough to discuss.
