I dont think we knew how good we had it back then.
if only we knew what was to come… Still hoping we revisit argus one day, they could have made a whole expansion around that.

Totally agree 100%
I loved Legion, I loved the Legion pre-patch finally being able to play the class I wanted the most.
It was just around the time that Justin Timberlake song “Can’t stop the feeling!” came out and was on the radio like 24/7 so whenever it’s on now I just get reminded and feel all warm and fuzzy inside
I still remember how call it looked when the invasion would come up in tanaris and youd see like 40 people all mounting up and flying.
i farmed all the invasion sets for all armour types the pre patch event was that good.
Legion was a fantastic expansion, so much effort put into each spec.
I’ve played since release and IMO legion was gameplay-wise the best expansion. Wotlk beats only due to the story (and ranged sv cry)
Legion Legendary items were terrible, every day had chores, AP grind sucked, people raged non-stop about Suramar on these forums, world bosses were dumb. RNG paragon mounts were a hot topic, world PVP was active but very unbalanced.
Lets not forget the bad, it’s important to remember why we wanted change and what we complained about.
I quit Legion for about 4 months, which for me and WoW is a massive break, and my first break too. Don’t regret it.
But, I so wish I did more than just play my Mage in Legion. I had alts but never really got stuck in with them. I’d love to go back and play Aff Lock and DK some more.
And as much as I hated PVP templates, the simplicity of just being able to queue a damn BG and play was nice.
Indeed, I remember there was some gloom over the way legendaries could get acquired but it was still a great expansion. Every class hall campaign was unique so u were only bound to repeat it if you levelled two characters of the same class (which is the minority of players). The artifact system with the talents felt nice, possibly because it reminded of the old talent system, even if the 8.3 one that you pick between shadow and light was a bit meh.
Its easy to say in hindsight but actually a lot of players knew it even back then that it was a good expansion. Not because people decided to stop being negative for a while but because we have had some many expansions already and some (especially WoD) made people appreciate decent content.
“some” is putting it very very lightly. System had been a mess until the final patch. Especially for certain classes/specs.
Legion was liked even while it was live. The only system of it that got flamed with a passion was its legendary system (and emerald nightmare being a joke even for an entrance raid)
The class halls were nice. Iirc Legion was the first expansion I took a long break. I was so tired of Suramar and the fel green by the end
Legendary items in legion never bothered me but then again I don’t do the “real” endgame crap and I loved that I got legendary items randomly just by playing how I wanted from everywhere.
Ap grind was the same at first it sucked because it was slow but when they made faster I had no problems with it.
I love Suramar to me it’s one of the best zones ever created. Only thing that sucked was the initial time gate of storyline but other than that I loved the place to death especially the city that actually felt like enemy city where you just could not stroll around like a tourist.
Rest of the stuff you mention I have no idea what was wrong with them except maybe paragon boxes but those only drop gold and rare mounts that have no effect on gameplay so I really do not care at all about the boxes I get those when I get those.
Yep, agree with you
Hands down my most favourite expansion ever
If I had to choose the weakest legion feature it’d be argus or random legendary drops. I really didnt like argus
I didn’t like it at all, so no nostalgia for me about legion. I am nostalgic about mop and WoD, but not legion.
It was good, I hated Argus though. Took my first big break from WoW during that time.
I agree. Only thing Legion needed to be perfect was PvP talent tiers to choose between Crit, Haste or Mastery.
I’m already nostalgic for BfA lol, at least as far as story is concerned. I hate how my favourite character Jaina is completely wasted in this expansion. Why did they even bother bringing her to Shadowlands if all she’s going to do is stand around a stupid table doing nothing? Her character arc was finished in BfA I guess, they’re just bringing her along for the marketing at this point.
The only part of Legion I disliked was the AP farm, but I’ve hated that for two expansions now and I love that it’s gone.
Rose tinted glasses is on for legion hardcore.
People look at how legion was at the End and compare that to how example this expansion is right at the start.
Legion had a very rocky start.
What you mean already? “Already” was at bfa…
What i miss from legion is actually the M+ back there… They made more sense both in gearing and gameplay…
The 77 day content cycle was glorious.
