Unfortunately the moment u start taking zidormi’s phase swaps as canon is the moment i am legally obligated to target you and write /point followed by /laugh
Wait what. Could you link it again?
No, I can still go back to Teldrassil through the power of time magic, I don’t need to accept that the giant low poly tree is gone, you can’t make me play in a post BFA world!!!
Someone really have sticks up their rears about Quel’dorei? Good. I’ll continue to exist and rp out of spite!
Selama ashal’anore!
This post right here. They get called San´layn multiple times during Alliance war campaign, both by Alliance, Horde and by the game itself, despite being affiliated with the Horde (and outright called Horde in one of the quest objectives).
They were going to join the Horde.
They kinda did.
Now they’re all dead/not.
Oh sorry, I interpreted it as the Darkfallen in the Horde (dark rangers etc) being called San’layn and was like “BLIZZ NOT AGAIN”.
Huh, that’s a neat tidbit. Also muddies already muddy definitions further, but I guess that’s to be expected these days.
Real talk, the most likely theory of why the story went like that is that people were annoyed with how bad the giant low poly stump looked now that the draw distance destroyed any form of illusion.
They just need to replace it with something good now.
And just in case they actually bother to do that: You’re welcome, Nelf community. Signed: Forsaken
I just hate how many threads disintegrate into this topic.
San’layn? More like san’LAME.
Screw your undead vampire elves, become a part of the Royal Apothecary Society for fun edgy undead shenaniganary. Or play as an abomination. To me that’s where the fun is at.
I’ll take it as what it is, a trashy bronze dragon time traveling insert for the sake game mechanics.
Which still stands closer to what’s plausible in this setting than the infinite manabombs headcanon.
Not really.
All it means is that they kept being called San’layn while (trying to be) part of the Horde because that’s their origin.
Are you trolling or what? I have responded to it. These are exactly the Independent Sanlayn I have already mentioned a lot in my posts. And they were not yet the members of the Horde, for the record
So just for the sake of my personal comprehension, the BfA ones specifically went by San’layn while being tested as potential Horde candidates?
This topic confuses me. Entirely possible that it shouldn’t, but here we are.
Yes, because even though they tried to join the Horde, it didn’t take away the fact that they used to be among Kaelthas Sunstrider’s elite that were raised to become the Lich King’s immortal soldiers.
Not reading the rest of the replies because there’s a lot of them happy for you all or sorry it went down like this
I think the reason there is now so many High Elves is that a large population in the rp community generally just want to roleplay a pretty character in a pretty place and do social things. On top of this people generally know that there is easily findable rp on alliance in a very convenient city, so the snowball has been accumulating people for a long time.
There’s not much vampire fantasy in WoW, and while I would personally prefer someone roleplaying one of the pirates infected by the vampire Vrykul or a traveller turned by one of those vampire pirates that managed to get away, I completely understand why some people gravitate toward San’layn roleplay.
However. However. However.
As is the case with MOST death knights, though admittedly less so these days, these people just tend to be terrible. Really bad. Comparable to your average Stormwind crime RPer. Almost as bad as most draenei RPers.
So I also understand the stigma. Should we try to help these people out, though? For my part, I know that I have never, not once, tried to whisper someone and offer advice on how they could improve. Not proactively. Maybe I should try. Maybe I will.
@Vaxir where can I find a san’layn RPer?
I have no clue lol
Honestly at this point I think the best solution is to just avoid san’layn RPers that aren’t NPCs because it just devolves into this and it’s plainly not worth it.
Amazon probably.
As someone who used to main a San’layn, it pains me to sort of agree with this.
