I defo agree and I find odd that the way of enjoying SL Mythic raiding is by… Raid logging. I used to play alts but now I refuse to do that because let’s be honest, I paid those fun taxes once.
Yes, I do consider korthia, torghast and renown as taxes. Since Blizzard keeps taxing us, it kinda explains why Mythic raiding guilds are falling apart because we’re the players likely to stick. But if we’re being taxed, then we have no reason to be as loyal as we used to be.
Sad to hear that anothze Alliance guild died though.

In bfa i sleep in Uldum to get rep for essence and do daily in pandaland so i can buy keys for visons and I never complain about it because it was rewarding and had better impact on m+, raid but this in Korthia daily xDDD On Korthia only what is worth to do is rifts, killing rares and collecting chests. So only daily what I will do is on reset because painful fate q but after i cba
I feel you, because i play this game for progress, and so far i’ve achieved the score i wanted in M+, but it seems that when it comes to vault and raid drops i have the worst luck EVER. So tonight after raid and another useless vault i felt the same as i’ve been the same ilvl for the past 6 weeks, this made me think wth am i playing this game for and that maybe it’s time for a break again.
Just take it with a grain of salt and wait till they fix their garbage awful game design. Around 90% of the Expansion is terrible, maybe some M+ is fun, and when raiding was challenging a bit. Apart from that, there is absolutely nothing to do but wait at this point.
Don’t start going all desperate and stuff, just do what we always did, wait and hope they wake the … up.
This is how it is for most mmos i think. People play them because they are attached to their online friends and their collection of pets/mounts/achievements/invested time. You aren’t having fun but it’s too hard to let go. Even when you gain perspective on all of that it doesn’t change that feeling of missing out. That feeling is every mmo dev wet dream, because it lets the game go past quality and content into a realm of arrogance where you can’t do no wrong and just milk. People will defend you anyway, no matter what you do. When you never have to improve it’s just a sad state to be in.

Looking at the current state of the game, I’d say it was still true during BFA that wow still had this aura of being defended by players and designers thinking they’re not doing wrong.
Now in SL, even the most loyal players are showing their discontent with the game and designers being so bad. Heck, Ion and elitist jerks haven’t been raiding for a month… Imagine, quitting your own game X’)

Player make it irrelevant not blizzard. Its not like you cant farm old achievements, tmog, mounts, play alts, enjoy chromie time etc. that was my point you can do it. Most players just dont want to because they dont get bis gear from it. I mean y there is a lot of stuff wrong with this game rn. But saying you have nothing to do is kinda….

TBH I would do that if things were deterministic and not pure RNG.
For example, i love farming reputation in old contents to get the mounts / pets but i absolutely detest the drop ones where i just roll a dice and dont have a steady progress towards the reward. If say x mount has 1% drop chance; put it in vendor with 100x cost and make the boss drop 1x currency. God knows I would do it everyweek and it would feel so good to see myself getting closer to it.
Same with raids. I killed 3 bosses in SoD and gave up on raiding this expansion. Why? Because at the end of that 3.5 hour struggle, wipe and frustration my reward was nothing but anime. And the idea of getting a vers - mastery item from the 4th boss was so dishearthening.
I simply think majority of the player base dont have the luxury (time) to roll the dice endlessly anymore. MMORPGs will either adap like FF did or continu to lose players.
I mean, come on, i saw a Lock with a 252 unbound changeling… I do m+ too and he had less score than i did. Why he has it and i dont? Answer is RNG and that is absolutely not acceptable.

I’m sorry to hear that. It’s jarring, and a loss, when a group calls it a day. And it messes with your head when a collapse like that happens.
Take a breath - ideally go away from the game and the forum for a day or two - and then ask yourself what you feel like doing.
I’d be fine with removing the Covenants altogether. There is nothing in any of them I want.
Well, it’s only hypothetical; if really doing it mid-expansion, the support would be to bake in some passives to each spec more or less equivalent. But they’re not going to anyhow, so we don’t have to worry about it.

Had one or two heated arguments with the OP but I respect his decision to quit and wish him all the best in his future gaming.
To be fair I don’t see myself ever succumbing to the lategame of trying to get to the best loot piñata. I just keep leveling alts around the world (of warcraft), enjoying the journey and the scenery. If I ever get tired of that I’ll probably quit.

You shouldn’t play the game anymore if you aren’t having fun. I have many times in the past enjoyed conversations with you over TeamSpeak and later Discord. While I have fallen off the radar as life took me further West, you know where to find me
