Lol, lock is one of the tankiest specs I’ve seen so far in TWW. You can’t complain about that. Just Dark Pact is better than 90% of defensives out there, then we have free potions (soulstone), passive shield that regenerates as you do damage, passive % damage reduced through talents. Unending Resolve is also insanely good with how low the CD is. If all of that is not enough, you have Voidwalker to tank for you solo or use it’s ability in group play, which is YET ANOTHER defensive.
Then you have Fear. In solo play, this has always been the single most powerful CC for a loong time. No CD on that either.
Throughout all my chars, warlock is the easiest to survive in delves, because of ranged + all the defensives. If you wanna see bad defensives, try boomkin and get pummelled. Besides Barkskin (which is just OK, nothing amazing) and a pathetic 30% HP heal, they got nothing. Blizzard thinks bear form is OP and it probably is in certain scenarios, but shifting into bear means ZERO dps and becoming basically a target dummy for 10 seconds while Frenzied Regen is doing its thing. None of warlock’s defensive abilities prevent you from doing damage.
EDIT: Oh, forgot MORTAL COIL. Do I need to say more ? Even on a boss, that’s 20% HP instantly, on a very short CD. Yea.
As for mobility, Burning Rush has no CD, what more do you want ? Most other classes have mobility CD that boost their speed for a little while (<10 secs). If you use BR the same way, you lose very little HP and still get 70% speed increase. Not to mention all the zooming in old instanced content, the only class that is faster moving without a mount there is my hunter.
In combat, in raids, you have Demonic Circle, use it. It should become second nature for you to place it whenever you move. While other classes have to use movement CDs and spend time moving around, a well placed teleport will get you instant movement that dodges mechanics and allows you to continue DPS-ing, while other classes continue to safety dance.
Out of all the things to complain about, warlock is not one of them. Sure, some passive movement speed talent would be nice for convenience, but it’s not necessary. And defensives, lol, what more do you want, bubble ? Come on now.
