Im gonna ask the question everyone is afraid to ask

Was the Caravan Brutosaur mount introduced in the game, to reinforce the fear of missing out? To show the players that look, if you DARE take a short break, you will lose FOREVER your chance on these amazing things.

No , I have never not played and I felt no urge to buy it.

You could say this for literally anything they introduced in any expansion that you may have missed or decided not to play. That said, this one is extremely rarely in the BMAH isn’t it?

I like time-limited things. Yes, it is kinda pity if I don’t have something I like and there is no way to get it but when I actually have something other people can’t get anymore…yes, this feeling is so rewarding and I love it~

There have been various items over the years long before the long boi, that were removed or were special occasion/event drops that were only available for a specific period of time.

It was a gold sink. Then they realised that if too many people got it, it would affect the servers with all the AH pings. So, they removed it and haven’t brought it back.

Wasn’t to spite anyone. It was a mistake to make it available in the first place.

Yes of course

I barely understood the question, let alone be afraid to ask it.

Then stick to things that you can understand <3

Why?

Bizzard use that tactic time and time again. The monthly trader thing for example, not forgetting that you get another reward if you complete the whole 12 months. The store selling ‘limited’ timed items. AOTC mounts. The list can go on and on. EVERYTHING Blizzard has done is designed to keep you subbed.

The AH mount was less of a FOMO thing and more of a mistake that Blizzard corrected.

No it was actually introduced as a gold sink and something for players to work towards. However the REAL question is : Why was it removed ?

Its on bmah and as others have said its a gold sink, people had over 2 years to farm it and the mount really wont make a difference for most players because most players barely use the AH enough to justify them spending 5m on it

Blizzard said it was a mistake they added it :dracthyr_shrug:

Your title seems to imply something I don’t recognise. I’ve never been afraid to ask for clarification if I deem my confusion on a subject important/interesting enough.

With time limited events and rewards it has always seemed perfectly clear that motivating people to sub was at least part of the agenda. How much evil you ascribe to this behaviour will depend on the individual judging it.

The saddest part of all of this to me, was that I LOVED the model for the Brutosaur.

I never had enough gold to purchase it, barely reached 20 % needed lol.

I really hope that they will consider adding the model back, without the AH, for a more modest price. So the players who already have it won’t be screaming unfairness, but the people that either didn’t play or didn’t have enough gold, can still enjoy the amazing model

They’ve done that with many mounts / pets, this game is based around these kind of things you see.

For example:

Legion Mage Tower (artifact) appearances.
Battle for Azeroth Auction House mount.
Mythic challenge weapon transmogs from Warlords of Draenor.
Mounts and pets that aren’t available anymore from older content.

Anything that comes to mind really.

Tbf the long boi is a bit of an exception to that list. For the legion and WoD examples we knew they were time limited due to the nature of acquisition. For example MT was heavily tied to the artefact weapons, which pretty much everyone knew were going to be retired after Legion. The long boi was just a gold sinc and didn’t have anything that tied it to the expansion exclusive systems/mechanics, it was later announced that it was time limited completely at random. The FoS for buying it before the end of BfA was added way later than it’s release, meaning it wasn’t really intended to be a limited time thing.

no it was a gold sink

Just 12 months not all in a row.
