blizzard wtf are u doing we have have no chance to stay alive vs melees in pvp i keep getting destroyed in solo shuffle i have been hard stock at 2.1k for weeks and this useless demo buff doesnt have help at all we are the punching bag of pvp do something ffs

Lock can definitely go much higher, that is not really the topic here. On the other hand going higher as a lock is literally 10x harder than on majority of melee classes and that definitely is a problem.
However, with that said it really does come down a lot to skill, not only yours but of your healers. For me personally it’s much harder playing on 1.6k than it is on 2.1k - 2.2k because healers are basically complete apes on lower rating.
If all players are equal melees generally have a significant advantage due to how streamline their role is paired with the fact that you cant stop them from dealing damage. At top level casters tends to be good but yes, they are unironically way harder to play than melees just by sheer design. “When you hit me im unaffected by it, when i hit you you´ll lose like 50-80% of your damage potential” kind of deal.
The fundamental issue on this is that the game treats caster vs melee as if the melees has substantial downtime due to getting kited while no melee has been getting kited for like a decade. As a DK i only have downtime on pretty much mages but we cant use mage as reference point for every caster vs melee matchup or we´ll end up with a majority of all casters not getting to play the game at all.
It is hard to balance this though because if they balance it around average players casters will dominate at the higher levels. At lower - mid level melees will have the advantage due to zugzug being a perfectly viable strategy.
