I sympathise with you mate its blizzards fault they panicked when everybody was moaning about queue times and just opend a load of new servers I knew what would happen.
How is the server population now after 1 month?
It got to medium for maybe 5 days, then went back to low. And to be honest it feels like there are less people now than before the free migration. It feels like playing a private server instead of the real wow. What people say about “original vanilla servers were this size” it’s not true at all: I was on a medium pop server in vanilla and stormwind, ironforge and horde cities were full and living. Here in stormwind you always see the same 15 people.
It’s actually not too bad. Higher pop than Vanilla WoW. There’s a few guilds on Alliance side anyway that are clearing Ony/MC. And the balance is 48/52 in favour of Alliance. I was annoyed just after the transfer as it seemed empty, but it’s actually not too bad now. Finding groups as DPS sometimes can be a pain, but that’s life for a DPS on a non packed server, I suppose.
I’m not sure what ppl are complaining about. I migrated from Mograine and I’m happy I did, Judgement are alive and well. Never any problems getting in groups (as a rogue) I even did Maraudon this sunday around 10-11 in the morning… and there are always other players around, from both factions. Plenty of ppl to play with and contend with. I really can’t stand it when a server is packed with players everywhere u go, like Mograine was (still is maybe?).
It doesn’t get better and Blizzard doesn’t give a crap about your experience. They tricked people into migrating to Dragonfang and now instantly close tickets about it without response, don’t pay attention to forum threads about it and actyually went as far as giving people 3 day bans for complaining about how dead the server is.
TL;DR - Reroll, it’s the only way off these servers.
Bans? Not heard anything about that before but I think you gave the real reason in your post. Server population is not a suitable reason to open a support ticket. If that’s what you’ve been doing and you got banned, you totally deserved it.
Actually it is a suitable reason. They completely screwed players into migrating to Dragonfang by having it as the ONLY OPTION to transfer to for the first week, misleading people into thinking this was the only place to migrate to.
Less than a week later they opened migration to other servers instead. effectively killing Dragonfang for good and completely screwing over the people who had already moved on the Blizzard promise that they would help the realm.
decided to migrate off Mograine to judgement
Imagine to transfer from one of the most balanced and populated realms to some wasteland. Even when people warned abouta population drop.
Well deserved, suffer now.
And what, exactly, do you think a GM can do about it? You’re just wasting their time that they could be spending helping people with a problem that isn’t self-inflicted.
i don’t understand why people measure server density by the population in stormwind/orgrimar.
i mean, unless you’re 60, decked in full BiS gear and have your epic mount and is just chatting in guild or playing the AH or something, there’s no reason to linger in any of the main cities, most people i know are out and about in the world doing their quests/grinds or are in a dungeon.
Here’s the reasoning (not that I think it’s good reasoning):
-
It doesn’t really matter which zone you use as long as it reliably has people
-
Faction capitals reliably have people
-
Faction capitals can therefore be used as a rough barometer for server population as a whole
This completely ignores the fact that people hanging around in capitals are, by definition, not out in the world, contributing to the “fullness” of the server. The only thing they’re really populating is the trade channel.
in that case, i’d measure server population based on how many people are in a well farmed zone (WPL comes to mind, with ad rep grind, and must do quest chains) or STV for the mid levels.
like i said, i wouldn’t use a capital city since the only reason to hang in it is if you’ve absolutely ran out of content you can do or don’t feel like doing content at the moment (heck, i’m 60 and while i look for those dungeon runs i feel like tanking/the rare dps spot i like, i run around the world doing my light grinds and gold collection)
Can’t believe it’s so hard to understand it was just an example. Yesterday Dire Maul opened, did you see how many people were there to wait the opening? There was slightly more people than a raid.
I have a feeling they’ll open up transfers between the med/high servers (Judgement, Earthshaker, Bloodfang, Dragonfang) at some point.
They will open transfers again, but I don’t see why should people move at this point when queues are not unsustainable as they were before, the only people who would want to do that are probably ninjas or with bad reputation on their realm. Btw economy is dieing on judgement, there is no demand for anything and prices are collapsing.

As layers are removed from other servers, people will find it increasingly uncomfortable to remain.
As expected basically noone transfered
Ye need more people
Thats nice and all but ideally they should merge 2 of the free transfer realms together because they are really suffering.
